At last! Gov’t lifts land-based curfew in the BVI

For the first time in a year, the streets of the BVI are being governed by no curfew.

Premier Andrew Fahie announced on Thursday that the current land-based curfew — which was in effect from 2 am to 5 am — has been lifted.

“I repeat, the land curfew has been lifted. The health and safety protocols, wearing of masks and sanitising of hands, remain in place,” Premier Fahie explained in a national address.

Regarding the sea, the curfew which starts at 10 pm nightly has been changed and will now begin after midnight at 12:30 am.

The Premier said this will further stimulate more economic activity on the sister islands.

As more residents take the COVID-19 vaccine, the government promises to reduce restrictions and further open the economy which has been battered by the pressures of the global health pandemic.

At last, sweet relief. Next step is to postpone the seaport opening and then soften the blow by dropping 4th day covid test BUT replacing the day 0 one with a rectal swap test. Just to set the mood for your trip – BVI LOve!

This curfew was to help with shootings not with COVID
