Bartender arrested after wounding man with broomstick
A female bartender, who’s a native of the Dominican Republic, was recently arrested after wounding a patron with a broomstick at a bar in Baughers Bay.
The incident reportedly occurred after the patron ordered a drink and informed the bartender that his friend would pay for it later. The bartender is said to have refused the request, insisting that the drink be paid for immediately.
An argument reportedly broke out, during which the bartender allegedly broke a broomstick and struck the man in the head. Sources say the patron suffered an open wound, with blood seen gushing from his forehead.
It is unclear to our news centre whether the patron sustained additional injuries or if he retaliated. However, police were called to the scene and reportedly advised the injured man to seek immediate medical attention.
Details about whether the bartender was removed from the bar remain unconfirmed, and the exact charges she may face have not been disclosed.
This incident comes amid a series of violent and criminal occurrences at bars and nightclubs across the territory, including thefts, assaults, robberies, and shootings involving both patrons and staff.
