Be vigilant! Burglaries on the rise

Property owners and business owners on Virgin Gorda (VG) are being advised to take precautions to properly secure their premises amid a spike in burglaries on the sister island.

The police said they received reports last week of illegal entries into three guest villas and one residence on VG. Cash was taken from all four premises.

Over on Tortola, the cops said they have arrested and charged Orville Christopher of Sea Cows Bay for illegally entering a villa in Long Bay. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded. In that burglary, jewellery was taken along with grocery items.

Thirty-year-old Timron Layne of Josiah’s Bay was also charged late last month for illegally entering a home in Lambert Bay. Layne was additionally charged with unlawful possession of cannabis.

According to the police, burglaries in the territory are down this year when compared to the same time last year. The month of September 2022 recorded 14 burglaries — a 22 per cent decrease when compared to September of last year.

At the same time, the cops said they saw an increase in house burglaries in September. Residents are being asked to secure their homes and businesses as officers of the Criminal Investigation Department work to keep the number of burglaries low.

We are Americans. Majority of our people were always in the Americas, we are the Olmecs.

As for the lie of Columbus you can find West Indians in India, not in the Americas! Our people no longer share the legacy of European slave trade of the Atlantic.

Although many of our people live on the continent of Africa we are indigenous to the west!
