Power has been restored to sections of the territory since the major outage on several islands Thursday morning.
The extent to which power has been restored is not immediately clear. BVI News can, however, confirm restoration in a number of areas on the main island of Tortola.
Up to press time, efforts to contact management of the BVI Electricity Corporation for a comprehensive update were unsuccessful.

Residents across the British Virgin Islands, except Anegada which has an independent power station, are without electricity.
This major power outage happened minutes before 10 am on Thursday.
Deputy General Manager of the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC), Henry Creque, said the cause of the outage is not immediately clear.
“We’re now investigating the problem and trying to restore as many areas as we can as quickly as possible,” he told BVI News.
The problem developed at the Pockwood Pond-based Wilfred Smith Power Station, which supplies electricity to roughly a dozen islands.
Affected areas and islands include Jost Van Dyke, Frenchman’s Cay, Little Thatch, Beef Island, Great Camanoe, Buck Island, Scrub Island, Marina Cay, Saba Rock, Tortola and Virgin Gorda.
BVI News will provide further details when it becomes available.
