Body found in waters near Village Cay

The body of a male was recovered from the waters near Village Cay on Tortola on Thursday.

The police confirmed the news in a brief statement this afternoon.

The law enforcers did not say the condition in which the body was found or if they suspect it to be the result of foul play.

Meanwhile, reports of this incident come only two months after the body of a Brazilian man who resided in Manuel Reef was recovered in waters next to the Sea Cow’s Bay Community Centre.

That death is being treated as a homicide.

The BVI is currently investigating six homicides that happened this year.

6 homicides this year – and it’s only April. Very concerning. No respect for human life…
