Brandywine Bay man charged in drug bust

Police arrested and charged a 28-year-old man from Brandywine Bay who is suspected of being involved in the distribution of cocaine after they conducted a search operation in that area on October 28.

A report from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said Aleem Fahie was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and unlawful possession of a controlled drug.

Police did not give any indication about the quantity of the drug found, but the RVIPF said Fahie remains in custody pending his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court.

Police Commissioner Mark Collins, in a brief statement, emphasised that the Force remains committed to locating and bringing to justice those involved in such criminal activities.

“Individuals who engage in drug distribution pose a significant threat to our community, and the RVIPF is unwavering in its determination to prosecute these offenders,” he said.

The RVIPF requested that persons with any information that can assist officers with investigations can confidentially call the Crime Stoppers line 800-8477 (TIPS) or overseas call 1-284-800-8477 with the relevant information or contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

It further noted that all provided information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
