  2. Quietly Watching says:

Mr. Mathavious spent his entire adult life toiling for this/his country. A harder working individual is difficult to find. He worked Sunday to Sunday and worked so well for us to build Financial Services in the Virgin Islands to a level many thought impossible. We are grateful. We loved him dearly. We will miss him.

He has left a legacy for us to build on and to emulate. We must practice the excellence laid down for us to follow.

  8. Amazing Ambassador says:

Apart from all that he did to develop the financial services industry of the BVI, he was passionate in his love for the territory. I remember being on the same AA plane as him, flying from SJU to EIS. Most of the other passengers were tourists and as they cranes their necks to see the BVI approaching, asking which island was which, Dr. Mathavious stood up and gave a running commentary on all that we were seeing on each side of the plane. Little did the tourists know of Dr. Mathavious’s huge importance to the economic development of the territory, but as a tourist ambassador, he was amazing!
