BVI’s active COVID cases now at 38

The number of active case in the British Virgin Islands has climbed to 38, Health Minister Carvin Malone has announced.

Speaking in the House of Assembly Thursday night, Malone said 25 of those active cases are on the main island of Tortola, two are on Virgin Gorda, one is on Anegada, and another 10 are isolated on vessels.

All 38 cases are asymptomatic.

Meanwhile, the epidemiological summary of these cases indicates that 22 of them are travellers who were discovered on Day 0 of entry into the territory.

Eight were found to be carriers of the virus on Day 4 after entering the territory while four were identified through what the Ministry of Health has described as “travel screening”. One of the cases was also identified as “crew” while the remaining three COVID patients are said to be local cases.

Health Minister Carvin Malone said no community spread has been identified among these latest positive cases. The total number of cases recorded in the territory to date now stands at 248.

As for the number of vaccinations, the total vaccines administered as of May 13 is 14,801.

Of that number, 11,036 persons have received their first dose while 3,765 have now gotten their second jab.

The party is over. You’ve all been had. The virus has been a hoax. Don’t believe me, just follow CDC recommendations. Tell me which ones make sense. I’ll wait.

8 FULLY VACCINATED NY Yankee players tested positive for covid.

” so,essentially, a fully vaccinated person can give an unvaccinated person Covid too yet people act as it’s only the other way around, Besides potentially lessening the symptoms, what’s the benefit of taking this vaccine? Even without the vaccine, less than 2% of people die who get it that are unvaccinated.

That’s why it should come down to individual choice. Let people decide what’s best for them and mind your business cause the hypocrisy, judgement and ‘vaccinated privilege’, is getting old real fast.”

One, They are vaccinated with Jonson and Jonson who is only 65% effective as the others.

Second, while they got the virus, the symptoms are very light. No one died, no one was hospitalized which is the goal….

You know, people do get sick before COVID and will get sick after COVID….

Third…. Yankees are biz as usual, they didn’t shutdown the country.

Don’t mind if people won’t take it but those people should not hold us from going back to normal.

If you feel god is protecting you know and don’t need science… good enough for me. Just open up…

So blame it on the travelers now.

  3. Tim says:

Seeing all the comments on social media …. there are lots of false positive results that the gov is too arrogant to understand there might be errors (or just stupid or cheap )

When they start reporting false positive numbers then we can believe…

Travelers are getting nervous about those false positives as they can ruin their entire schedule

I agree with Tim. Worldwide stats show the max asymptomatic is 50% – why is the BVI close to 100%?

We know of 1 death, and maybe another hospitalised. No one reporting symptoms. Out of 200+ cases???

Something is not right. Maybe the test procedure needs re-evaluating?

  6. Tongue Fu says:

38 out of 38 100% asymptomatic. Very unusual that 100% of all would be asymptomatic. Strange.

Why are they not revealing how many of the new cases are fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated or unvaccinated. I thought that if all were unvaccinated it would be a good case for their vaccine overdrive.

    Just saying.

@It’s over, The new CDC recommendations are because of the number of people that took vaccine in the USA it would be the same for us if people like you will stop being stupid and take the vaccine. Most of you who don’t want to take the vaccines are the ones who are calling for the place to be wide open. Stop holding back the country and get the vaccine. If you think the virus is a hoax God be with you.

  8. I really wanna know says:

We all know it’s a bunch of rig test so whether or not you vaccinated or not it’ll still show whatever that test was meant to show.

But my question is why no one talking about the phillipino guy that died from blood clots ? The guy from I**M**, why no one talking about the guy who got his hand paralyzed after the shot ? Just a set of smoke and mirrors painting this vaccine to be all holy

The Government needs to shed light about the gentleman that passed away because I heard that all the employees from the establishment had to take the vaccine and after getting the shot he passed away. I bothers me that it has not been publicised. The UK has a government website speaking about the many side effects reported after taking the shot, including death. I believe we need to be transparent as well. People need to the know the risks and make their own choice to take or not to take the vaccine.

Condolences to the family of the gentleman that passed away.

Doctors are not being forthcoming about certain health conditions in which you should not be taking this vaccine. This bothers me a lot.

So people were not dying before the vaccine came out? There was no sudden death in Tortola before the vaccine? Everything that happens to anyone now a days is the vaccine doing it. People were getting clots and dying long before we even hear about Covid. Stop being foolish.

      • Truth says:

Your comments are absolute nonsense. You sound like a total retard!

  9. hmmm says:

“All 38 cases are asymptomatic” impossible, any more anancy stories for us??

It is well known and accepted that between 5% and 80% of people testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 may be asymptomatic.

    • Jah says:

Then why don’t we open? Government scared for you. Trust your government. They own you.

    • Tongue Fu says:

      @hmmm

“It is well known and accepted that between 5% and 80% of people testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 may be asymptomatic”.

WTF is this? 5- 80% That is such a wide range how can anyone deduce anything from that. Surely you mean 80%. Still every time they bring stats we are looking at 100% asymptomatic which suggest that the testing is flawed.

  10. asymptomatic... says:

    Dah trending man!

I would love to know the ratio of vacced to un-vacced.

    What a joke!

  11. Curiosity says:

    Common questions:
How many people with the coronavirus disease are asymptomatic?

For COVID-19, data to date suggest that 80% of infections are mild or asymptomatic, 15% are severe infection, requiring oxygen and 5% are critical infections, requiring ventilation.
    As of Mar 6, 2020

So what happens after I get fully vaccinated? is it the same as flu shot that you need to get every year?
