BVI names athletes for Junior Pan Am Games!

The BVI Olympic Committee has announced the team heading to the 2nd Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, from August 9–23, 2025.

Sprinters Jaleel Croal and Wanyae Belle, along with long jumper Khybah Dawson, will represent the Territory in track and field. Adaejah Hodge, U20 world champion in the 200m, has been named one of seven official ambassadors for the Games by Panam Sports.

Croal, who placed fifth at the previous Games, will compete in the 100m and 200m. Belle is set for his Games debut, and Dawson will contest the men’s long jump.

“This is one of the strongest youth teams we’ve fielded,” said BVIOC President Ephraim Penn. “We are also proud to see Adaejah honored as a continental ambassador.”

BVIAA President Steve Augustine added: “Jaleel, Wanyae, and Khybah represent the future of BVI athletics, and Adaejah continues to be a shining light.”

The delegation departs August 14 and includes Chef de Mission Gloria Fahie, Deputy Chef Sophia Brewley-Massiah, Coach Winston Potter, and Physiotherapist Courtney Bascombe.

“It’s an honor to represent the BVI,” said Croal. “Every race is a chance to inspire.”

“This is a dream come true,” said Belle. “I’ll give it everything I’ve got.”

“I’m focused and confident,” Dawson added. “I want to show the world what BVI athletes can do.”

“Being chosen as an ambassador is a big deal,” said Hodge. “I want to inspire others from small nations.”
