BVI Ports Authority wins Cruise Port of the Year award
The BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) has won the Cruise Port of the Year award, earning regional recognition for its performance and improvements in cruise port operations.
The Authority received the Nathan Dundas Cruise Port of the Year Award during the Caribbean Shipping Association’s 56th Annual General Meeting held in Georgetown, Guyana, in late October.
The award recognises Caribbean ports that provide quality services to cruise ships and passengers while continuously improving their facilities. The award is named in honour of the late Nathan Dundas, a respected advocate for the Caribbean cruise industry.
The recognition comes as BVIPA celebrates its 35th anniversary and Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park marks 10 years of operation.
Tortola Pier Park Limited CEO Vance Lewis welcomed the award, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the Authority, businesses and tourism partners.
“We congratulate BVIPA on this regional recognition and are proud of TPPL’s contribution to the cruise experience,” Lewis said.
The latest honour follows BVIPA’s receipt of the CSA’s Ludlow Stewart Container Port of the Year Award in 2025, which recognised its cargo operations.
