BVI records uptick in COVID cases

The British Virgin Islands is experiencing an increase in the number of persons testing positive for COVID-19 at the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

This is according to the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) who said in a statement on Friday, September 1, that this reported increase is a reminder that the coronavirus persists and that caution and proactive measures to ensure health and safety must continue.

The BVIHSA did not specify the number of active cases in the territory but said it continues to monitor persons presenting with the virus and remains alert to protect the health and safety of residents and visitors.

“We must remain steadfast in our commitment to battling this virus and safeguarding the wellbeing of residents by adhering to recommended safety measures and staying informed,” said Acting Chief Executive Officer of the BVIHSA, Dr June Samuel.

As the Omicron variant and other strains of the virus continue to circulate, the BVIHSA is encouraging residents to:

Maintain Proper Hand Hygiene: Regularly wash hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds.

Wear Masks indoors and in Crowded Places: Masks should be worn in indoor settings and crowded places, especially when physical distancing is not feasible. This step helps protect both individuals and the wider community.

Practice Physical Distancing: Maintain a safe distance of 3 to 6 feet from others, particularly in crowded or enclosed spaces.

Monitor Symptoms: Stay attuned to any symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, headaches, dizziness or loss of taste or smell. If symptoms arise, individuals should seek testing and follow appropriate health guidance.

Follow Official Health Guidelines: Keep up to date with the latest health advisories from reputable sources, such as the BVIHSA, the Ministry of Health & Social Development, and other relevant health authorities.

Was a healthy being with no physical or neurological problems until they put Astrazeneca and Pfizer into my body. Now, i am half crippled.

Not a position medicine supposedly should find itself in. Medicine should heal, not destroy and kill.

One gets a supposed flu shot , then gets sicker than the actual flu would make one…

  19. CROWD CONTROL says:

As the war spreads to the entire globe there will be a need to control the masses. Round 1 has already proven that a scared population will fall for anything that promises safety and protection. By weaponizing the protective agent more damage can be done than by bullets and guns and bombs.

  20. An idea worth working on. says:

There is probably a direct correlation between the gathering of hundreds over a week of carnival festivities and the spread and thus rise of the virus.

Soon, regulation of crowd size, though impossible to ludacrous to impose, may be an idea worth working on.

I suggest you take a look at the new science and the latest information on all of this.
    Fauci lied, people died.
Masks don’t work, natural immunity does.
There is a global spike in excess deaths amongst young vaccinated people – this is confirmed by the insurance actuaries.
The “science” they spouted before was a plan for profit and control. Don’t let it happen again.
