Canadian visitor dies while vacationing in BVI

Police Information Officer Akia Thomas has confirmed that a Canadian national vacationing in the British Virgin Islands has died.

Thomas said the visitor’s unresponsive body was fished from Pond Bay, Virgin Gorda by the Virgin Islands Search & Rescue (VISAR) on Friday, February 21 at about 4:16 pm.

The visitor has been identified as 62-year-old Agnes Cormack.

“Police responded and she was later pronounced dead,” Thomas said.

Police are now investigating the incident.

BVI News understands that the deceased woman and her husband have been sailing in the territory on a catamaran since February 16.
