Christmas message from Andrew Fahie

Opposition Leader Andrew Fahie. (BVI News photo)

In 2017 the Virgin Islands experienced two of the worse natural disasters through two category five hurricanes Irma and Maria.

In 2018 we continue to recover individually and as a Territory.  Although we still have a long way to go, we can say thank GOD that we are not where we were one year ago.  I share in the pain experienced in 2018 of the ongoing struggles being experienced by many in the effort to rebuild from the disasters experienced in 2017.

I share in the pain of all persons who have loss loved ones in 2018.  From Anegada to Jost Van Dyke, at times, it is easy to feel a sense of hopelessness, but I, Andrew A. Fahie, Leader of the Opposition, First District Representative and Chairman of the Virgin Islands Party stop by to encourage each of you during this holiday season to NEVER GIVE UP!

I stop by to let each of you under the sound of my voice to know that out of your pain comes your purpose.  I want to take this holiday season to remind each of you that your purpose is not attached to people nor things because truth be told, both of them can or will leave you at some point in your life, but your purpose will never leave you.

I encourage each of you not to lose hope!  This holiday season I encourage everyone to remain laser-focused on the reason for your existence.  This holiday season let us remember those who are less fortunate than we are and go above and beyond the call of duty to bring joy to their lives.  Together we will always achieve more!

I take this time to recognize and thank all persons in the private and public sector of the Virgin Islands who worked diligently in 2018 to ensure that hope was kept alive in these Virgin Islands.  Together we have weathered the storm and now sailing towards a bright tomorrow.  Our rough “yesterdays” did not make us bitter, rather it made us better.

This holiday season and for the entire new year 2019, let each of us pledge to be better than we were the previous year.  Let each of us pledge to be better than we were the day before.  Let each of us hold ourselves accountable and then the Territory will have no other choice than to follow our lead because a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

As we get better as a person then the Territory will get better.  As we strive for excellence then the Territory will perform in excellence.  As we respect and love the GOD of our forefathers then GOD will respect us more as a people and allow our Virgin Islands to be more prosperous than ever before.  This holiday season and for the entire new year 2019 let us put into our lives what we want to get out of our beautiful Virgin Islands.  Our success individually and as a Territory is hinged on this basic but profound principle.

May the Peace of the Lord be with those persons that are visiting our shores for the holidays and for the new year.

May the Peace of the Lord be with you my people of the First District and all the people of these beautiful Virgin Islands for the holidays and for the new year.

Our best days in these beautiful Virgin Islands are not our “YESTERDAYS” but rather our “TOMORROWS”.

On behalf of my wife and I, I say Happy holidays, GOD’s Blessings to everyone and may we forever cherish our Territory’s rich legacy!

Try to talk sense please. That’s just a photo the news have on file that they used for the story. Fahie didn’t loss a thing. In fact the people get to see how power hungry Mitch & Ronnie really are and that they are not for the people.

Poor you. Without Fahie as Leader of the Opposition the NDP would have hide from the public the millions of dollars that are now still unaccounted for including the $7 mill for the planes.

    Well, he certainly has deflated.
The reality of the concept “what goes around comes around” is tried and true but never ceases to amaze. Believe.
Life is quite simple but we do nonsense and complicate our lives unnecessarily.

Nice try but Fahie doesn’t have to worry about haters like you. As Leader of the Opposition Fahie did well. He is a fearless leader who cares about the people. The present leader of the Opposition only gone in the post to try to cover he and his NDP sins while he was in government. Fahie we thank you and we still got your back.

I do not always agree with Fahie in the past but I have grown to respect him. I now feel that he will make an excellent Premier.
