CLARIFICATION: BVI News did not author Richardson’s letter to editor
On Wednesday, December 1, 2021 BVI News Online published a letter under the headline: “LETTER TO EDITOR: Help! One good deed has put my home in jeopardy”.
In that letter, which was authored by Mr Lionel Richardson, he claimed he mortgaged his house to assist a former close relative (an ex-wife) who he said was badly ill. He also claimed that this former close relative — whose name he did not mention in the letter and whose name was not published — defaulted on the loan payments and that his house was in jeopardy of foreclosure.
Our news centre wishes to make it clear that BVI News and its affiliates are NOT the authors of the publication in question.
Furthermore, BVI News cannot amend, change, or withdraw the contents of the letter as they belong to Mr Richardson solely and wholly, as was indicated by the words “letter to editor”.
We wish Mr Richardson and, equally, all parties mentioned in his letter the very best.
