Digicel sponsors food fete

PRESS RELEASE: Digicel is bringing its commitment to supporting the people and the culture of the BVI to life with the news that it’s onboard for this year’s BVI Food Fete.

The month-long event showcases the culinary talents of local and international Chefs from across the Territory. As the exclusive Mobile sponsor, Digicel will provide free Managed Wi-Fi at each location and give a cash donation.

In addition, Digicel will host a booth at select locations on Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada, offering a variety of special offers including a free 30-day subscription to D’Music, a Samsung J2 Sale, Spin to Win top-up promotion, and free promotional items for BVI Food Fete patrons.

Digicel BVI Marketing Executive, Timothy Barker, commented on BVI Food Fete, “Digicel is proud to be the Mobile and Wi-Fi sponsor of the 2019 BVI Food Fete. As such, we will be providing each location with free Wi-Fi, so that guests can share their experiences and favourite foods in real-time from the many beautiful BVI locations. The BVI Food Fete is a celebration of BVI’s best culinary talent, shared on its best data network”.

The much anticipated culinary celebration begins on November 7th, with the Gourmet Soiree at Scrub Island Resort, Spa and Marina where guests can dress to impress while sampling a variety of culinary delights.

The second part of the evening features live entertainment and dessert on the North Beach. The food journey continues on to the Taste of Tortola, held at the Queen Elizabeth Park, November 9th.

Guests will enjoy delicious delicacies from over 15 tents showcasing the talents of the best Chefs on Tortola. After tantalizing their taste buds on Tortola, the public is invited to join Digicel and relax at Jost Pork & More Festival, held on Jost Van Dyke, on November 17th.

On the following weekend head to Taste of Virgin Gorda for an evening under the stars at Toad Hall (near The Baths) for a high-end food & wine sampling.

Taste of Virgin Gorda will feature local and international cuisine and signature cocktails from Tico, followed by a jazz performance by Arturo Tappin, all shared live via Digicel’s data network.

BVI Food Fete culminates at the much-loved Anegada Lobster Festival, which takes place from November 30th through December 1st.

“It’s great to have a sponsor like Digicel on board to assist in sharing and promoting this exciting celebration of BVI food and culture. The Wi-Fi service will allow guests the opportunity to share their experiences in real-time,” said Sharon Flax Brutus, Director of Tourism.
