Clarence Thomas Ltd (CTL) has donated a 50-inch flat screen television set to senior citizens who are part of the East End/Long Look Senior Engagement Programme.
The company donated the $827 TV today at the East End/Long Look Community Centre.
According to District Representative Marlon Penn, the seniors had requested a television prior to the September hurricanes last year.
Penn, therefore, sought help from CTL’s Managing Director, Michael Thomas.
“I told him about the request that I had and he didn’t hesitate to do that and be a good corporate citizen,” Penn said.
He further said the gift was to provide comfort to the seniors.
“We wanted to give you something that would give you a sense of comfort though it might be small,” he said.
“It is a small token of our appreciation for your contribution towards the development of our country.”
Thomas, in turn, said he was happy to donate to the East End seniors.
“I hope that this brings you some level of joy, happiness, and comfort,” Thomas said at the handing over ceremony.
Manager of the Senior Engagement Programme, Darriel Lettsome expressed her gratitude for the gift.
