Education Chief condemns vendors selling sex drugs to students
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Orlandette Crabbe has condemned vendors who sell sexual enhancement drugs to students in school uniforms, calling the practice both illegal and deeply troubling.
Speaking recently on the Talking Points radio show, Crabbe urged these vendors to stop immediately.
“This is something I want to talk about because these things are being bought here—the ‘honey packs’ is what the children call them. These are packages of coffee-flavoured substances that contain Viagra and Cialis that are being bought by students in uniform from local establishments,” she stated.
“I want to take the time to say to our vendors, you can’t want money that much,” she added. “You are breaking the law, and why are you selling that to a young child?”
Crabbe emphasized that law enforcement has been made aware of the issue and urged vendors to remove these products from their shelves.
“We have asked the police to get involved in that regard, and we are hoping they will support us because I don’t see the benefit of having them, especially when you are not monitoring them and selling them to students,” she said.
“As far as I know, Cialis and Viagra are prescription medications, so anything that contains them should be sold by prescription only,” she added.
Concerns over student behaviour
Crabbe also raised concerns about students carrying weapons, particularly brass knuckles, and pointed to widespread behavioural issues in schools.
She noted that the Bregado Flax Educational Centre (BFEC) in Virgin Gorda faces similar challenges as Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS), though on a smaller scale due to its lower student population.
“BFEC in Virgin Gorda faces similar issues on a smaller scale because the population is only one-fifth of ESHS,” she said. “But if we measure them pound for pound, it is just as bad as Elmore Stoutt.”
Ongoing drug concerns
In late January, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) warned of students consuming suspected ecstasy and sexual enhancement substances, including PPC, also known as ‘Pink Pussycat.’
Chief Inspector Kenrick Davis stated that these drugs induce sexual arousal among students and expressed concern over troubling videos showing inappropriate student behaviour. He stressed that the issue extends beyond any single school and urged the community to address worsening student conduct.
Minister of Education Sharie de Castro has also acknowledged the growing severity of the problem. She previously noted that the situation has worsened this year and has called for greater public engagement in tackling these concerns.
Crabbe’s latest statements reflect the Ministry of Education’s ongoing efforts to bring awareness to the issue and protect students.

Go after who importing them, it aint hard to find out. You all just turn a blind eye.
While the Education minister up and down jet hopping, she should be concerned about introducing legislation in the House for stiff penalties to those who sell these things to minors.
You all already see the path this country is on, better grab the bull by the horns from now or else….
The first stupid thing is assuming that all High School students are minors. Being a student does not make them a minor. Many of the students in school are 18yrs + and there are more in that range because of the additional year. I’m not condoning the use of these things but just explaining the reality of things and the fact that it may be students of adult age bringing those things on campus. You cannot blame a shop for selling adult things to an adult!!!!!
you can sit there and write pi** cause it ain’t your children or close family members…but give it time.
How do they even get a Trade Licence to import or to sell this stuff.
Just add it to the list of Criminal Activities that are deep in VI culture.
They are breaking the law, these vendors .School children!
Why weren’t the vendors arrested????? Their licenses suspended confiscated …
The law makers abd elected feign concern regarding the welfare of the children. You are part and parcel of these atrocites…you see a gross crime by adults involving our children and no section against these adults???
Are these people serious? The High School has 6 grades now which means you are potentially dealing with FULL BLOWN ADULTS in uniforms for the last 3 years in the school (18yrs +). We are just going to pretend that they are not going to have sex and experiment like we all did as teens? Of course not all of them will do it but some will. What do we have in place to deal with these things? This lazy approach is sickening. If you are not passionate about education and youth development you should seek another form of employment. These issues cannot be remedied by putting ink on paper and fancy policies. We need boots on the ground, utilize the different programs like M.A.L.E, YEP etc. These pretend educators make the dog sick these days. All they do is send out multiple letters, blame parents, blame kids. Leaders LEAD! You are being paid very well, DO YOUR F**KING JOB OR GO HOME!
Here we go again, highlight all the negative stuff with the young people and ZERO about the positives! The way these guys speak you would swear that the campus is a warzone and that all of the kids are hooligans. Then you wonder why the kids are the way they are? All we do is bash them 24/7. Look at the news stories when kids win spelling bee and other events, 2 or 3 comments. If you mention students in school with condoms or sexual enhancers, even if they are at the age of consent, you have 100 comments bashing everyone.
The ones that y’all giving Trade Licenses to that is brining in the products. Last time I checked, no students have a Trade License. The ones that is selling these products to your children is the ones to go after. Look at that they are using the students to make their money. The ones that paid or bribe to get a Trade License. Heard through the grapevine vine, some is spreading their legs for a fee to issue Trade Licenses. Then you have people that did everything the right way to get a Trade License and they were denied. How is that? Can some please explain.
Close the high schools to all students over the age of 13. These student can learn online in any other location but NOT on a BVI school campus. The school teachers and staff maintain there normal jobs at each school without any student disruptions.
The legal age of sexual consent is 16 (look it up!). The legal age to consume alcohol is 16 (Shocking – look it up!). The legal age to be considered an adult in the BVI is 18. There are a few hundred students in the school within the ag 16-20. If the products are legal then it’s legal to be sold to an 18+yr old individual, student or not. These are all facts! If these educators were serious about their jobs and conducting their duties they would be aware of these nuances and put proper measures in place to manage them, not travel all over the world 1st class and then complain on talk shows. Life is REAL and the issues are REAL, we need REAL LEADERS to tackle them.
SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME IFIOT WITH HIS EIG , PLAYING JUDGE , JURY & EXECUTIONER / THE ISDUE HERE IS THE AVAILABILITY OF DRUGS THAT YHE YOUTHS ARE BEING INTRODUCED TO , NO ONEN KNOWS WHO ALL IS GETTING HOOKED ON THE DRUGS , MANY DRUGS ARE DISGUISED IN MANY FORMS , SO ITS NOT ABOUT ” BASHING ” ITS ANOUT HOW AND WHO’S BEHIND IT / AND MORE TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO ARE EXCELLING IN THEIR EDUCATION, BUT ALL THST WILL HO TO WASTE IF THOSE SAME STUDENTS GETS HOOKED ON SOME FORM OF DRUGS UNINTENTIONALLY , ( WIGO GO AND PLAY EITH YOUR WIG, AND STOP TALKING SH*T
They don’t start importing Fentanyl into the BVI. Hate to say it but there will be a lot of people dropping dead. A tiny bit the size of half a pin head can be lethal. Being around Fentanyl can kill. A Dominican in the Bronx who was running a day care center just got 45 years in prison for letting her brother keep Fentanyl in the downstairs of the day care which lead to the death of a little boy who was in her care. There were two other children who passed out and they were given Norcan as well as the dead child but he did not make it. Some how, there were traces of Fentanyl on the floor mattresses that the children use to play and nap on. The brother tried to skip town but he was picked up near the Mexican border trying to make his escape into Mexico.
You got time..lol
Shoukdnt you been in college or working by 16..done with High school?
