Fahie and company officially indicted by US Grand Jury

File photo of Oleanvine Maynard and the disgraced former Premier, Andrew Fahie.

Disgraced former Premier, Andrew Fahie and his co-accused mother-son duo Oleanvine and Kadeem Maynard have officially been indicted on three counts of involvement in a cocaine and money laundering scheme by a United States Grand Jury.

The grand jury determined that the United States government had enough evidence to bring criminal proceedings against the accused on the three charges – conspiracy to import a controlled substance, conspiracy to engage in money laundering, and attempted money laundering.

The indictment was filed by the United States prosecutors on Wednesday. The indictment papers also call for forfeiture of any properties to the United States government that are deemed to have derived, whether directly or indirectly, from the defendants’ involvement in the conspiracy.

The indictment papers indicated that any property used or intended to be used in any manner to commit or facilitate the commission of the offences the defendants have been accused of will have to be forfeited.

In the same breath, if any of the properties subject to forfeiture, because of any act or omission by the defendants, cannot be located; has been transferred, sold to, or deposited with a third party; has been placed beyond the jurisdiction of the US court; has been diminished in value or has been mingled with other properties which cannot be divided then the United States would be entitled to the forfeiture of substitute properties.

Fahie and the Maynards now face up to life imprisonment if convicted of the alleged offences.

Both Fahie and Mrs Maynard were arrested at Miami Opa-Locka Airport on April 28, while Kadeem was arrested in St Thomas, USVI and is yet to make his initial appearance in Florida’s Federal Court.

Fahie, represented by attorney Theresa Van Vliet, was offered bail on May 4, but the prosecution filed an appeal against the offer.

Fahie’s attorney has since filed a motion to have the appeal dismissed.

Mrs Maynard is currently being represented by a court-appointed attorney.

Fahie’s stupidity and greed have set us back two or three generations. We can no longer blame anyone other than our selves for our problems. We can no longer claim reparations. Fahie demonstrated that we are incapable of governing ourselves. Let’s focus on education. Maybe in 20 or 40 years we shall find honest people to help us solve our problems.

That should teach him to stop .

This man had the gall to promote gambling by using the Bible verse the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just.

He must not have read these other verses:

        Proverbs 22:16-17

One who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and one who gives gifts to the rich–both come to poverty. Pay attention and turn your ear to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, for it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips.

        1 Timothy 6:9-10

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Fahie and the Maynards now face up to life imprisonment if convicted of the alleged offences.
    ————————————————-
Ive said it once, and I’d say it again, there are two roads to getting involved in the illegal drug trade: A 6 ft cell if your lucky or 6 ft under.

    Pick your poison.

Wise people would stay away, or if you don’t and get caught don’t say you were not warned.

Fahie reportedly was quoted as saying “No..no..no..this is not my first rodeo”. Well all rodeos has an ending.

U.S prosecutors states that he is “corrupt to the core”. It’s ironic that he is being labelled in this manner given that he was the one who was preaching from the mountain tops that the NDP government was the most corrupt ever.

Sometimes when people speak, they are projecting, and speaking of themselves. This is a perfect example. When you point fingers at others, 3 are always pointing back at you.

These 3 people destroyed their lives and in process helped dragged the BVI into a political crisis.

Oh..what tangled web we weave. If they have any sense left, they might want to start coughing up some names, and entering some sort of plea deal, or face the prospect of significant jail time.

Now, I do not fathom ever being in their positions as don’t even drink coffee least do drugs using or selling/conspiring, but if for some reason I fell and hit my head, loss consciousness, and wake up selling or conspiring to sell drugs to the U.S, and got caught, facing life, I would develop instant verbal diarrhea.

I’m telling on everybody. The authorities would not be able to get me to shut up. I’m not doing life by myself. Whoever was in it with me will be be going down with me. Every man for himself.

I am still in shock that a man of God supposedly would be involved with that. That’s why I do church at home. Unfortunately I have lost trust in those who always has God in their mouths.

If he knows what good for him he better take a plea deal because if tries to fight this in a US court with the amount of evidence against him; he will most certainly lose and the only way he’ll set foot in the BVI again is when they drop off his body or scatter his ashes after passing away in prison.

Andrew is a great example for all to learn from if you essentially want to destroy your life quickly. Because when greed takes hold of you, all morality goes out the window. Yes, we all make mistakes, but Andrew escaped Hell’s fire many times and he kept going back and back and back because He taught He was untouchable….now HIS family name and legacy, OUR country’s name and legacy are in tatters, and everything has to be rebuilt to regain respect. “Whoever is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live.” -Proverbs 15:27 –

Truth. I love that. Thanks for sharing. That’s a very good proverb to live by. I need to read my bible more. I missed that one despite I live by those words.

I’m tanksful for my humility and adopting the values of my parents who believed in living within our means.

While poverty comes with hardship, I’d rather be poor and without than doing something illegal to make ends meet. I also rather remain non envious of what others have because I have no idea where they got what they have from.

Do not dig graves for other people. You could fall right into it. I am not celebrating your down fall but you did a lot of bad things to good people. You spoil a lot of people’s good name even running to the previous governors to tell lies on your political opponents. You were warned over and over about what you were doing and would not listen. You were on the top of your mouth calling people corrupt without any facts or any care for the effects on them and their families. Now look who is really the one that is corrupt. Just look at where you found yourself. I will stay pray for God’s mercies on you.

Not every who witness and speak of God is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

The Bible says to test the spirits. Many of us saw right through Andrew because of our genuine relationship with Christ and studying of the Word.

1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

Pray and ask God for a spirit of discernment in all things.

    Ephesians 5:6-10

“6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord.”

    • Dont get in the game to begin. says:

Any financial gain enjoyed comes at the expense of damaged people and communities, families, and lost lives. There is no justification for getting involved in the drug trade to then use that illegal money to buy/create legitimate businesses.

That’s considered money laundering and if caught any property/businesses that was derived from such funds is subject to forfeiture.

The US government is going after everything Andrew cannot prove he obtained legitimately if convicted.

The best way to live is the honest way. Live within your means. Don’t try to keep up with the Jones; don’t try to place your hat where you cannot reach. Remember there are human beings whose lives and health are being destroyed by the drugs they consume.

Go to the banks and you’ll see how much loans we have for these houses. The banks, not drug money, own these houses and cars. The majority of us legitimately work for our money and legitimately own our homes and cars. I too made more money on paper when I worked in the US, but I paid more taxes there and my disposable income was less. I also could not afford to buy in the US (in the places I lived – other places are more affordable), but I was able to save in the BVI and invest in land and a home. Please do not generalize with your green eyes.
