Female pedestrian struck down in Road Town

Peebles Hospital

A pedestrian reportedly has been injured in a traffic accident in Road Town on Friday morning, May 25.

A motor vehicle reportedly struck the female pedestrian in the vicinity of the Quastisky building.

An ambulance responded at the scene and transported the woman to Peebles Hospital, BVI News understands. The woman’s condition has not been ascertained.

It is said the woman is the mother of a well-known businessman on Tortola.

    I notice pedestrians crossing the road have to wait for no traffic or for someone who remembers that we stop for pedestrian crossings. We’ve lost all sense of proper social behavior – blew away with Irma

    To lawless I don’t agree, I have noticed even if a pedestrian is on the cross walk drivers don’t think they need to stop, often times one person would stop in one lane and the other person would be driving still eg on the highway right there to cross by eureka, I always watch the road when one person stop for me toncross I walk and watch the other Lane before attempting to cross over.
