Financial secretary’s illness could benefit the BVI, Rosan posits

Rosan.

Amid news that Financial Secretary Jeremiah Frett was recently rushed to the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital for treatment, political commentator Cindy Rosan has posited that she is happy that he got the chance to experience the conditions patients are enduring as a result of the faulty air conditioning system at the institution.

Many residents have said the Financial Secretary and Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley should be held accountable for not releasing the necessary funds needed to carry out critical road repairs and other upgrades in health and education.

This belief was strengthened recently, when Works Minister Kye Rymer said he has no control over the funds needed for road works in the territory, adding that such questions should be directed to the Premier.

On the April 8 airing of the Morning Ride radio show, Rosan wished Frett a speedy recovery while adding that she hopes his perspective on the territory’s finances changes after his experience at the hospital.

“He’s up there in the hot hospital – where the babies are, our elderly, all our sick people. Up there is like a sauna. I kinda like that he’s feeling that, maybe when he comes out he’ll release the government’s purse. We blame the Premier a lot but they are two peas in a pod when it comes to the government’s finances, so let him feel the brunt down there,” Rosan expressed.

Rosan also said, “God works in mysterious ways” explaining that these unfortunate situations may be the only way for the territory to get the changes they wish to see in the community.

“Sometimes we pray for relief in this country and it’s going to come in a very hard way and I just say we should just prepare ourselves for that. We just have to prepare to accept that these might be the ways that relief may come to us in certain instances,” Rosan added.

The outspoken commentator also said she stands by her statement.

“I don’t apologize for what I just said, I mean it. Sometimes we get in our own way, we know things are happening and why they are happening and we remain loyal to individuals even though they’re hurting us,” Rosan argued.

To me it’s crazy how everything just falling apart and breaking down but still whenever you look in the news these politicians talking as if they doing such a good job and giving themselves raises while dragging their foot on addressing the low minimum wage or trying to do anything to protect the public from corporate greed. some of the small man dem still waiting on their increment. There is no sense or urgency to get nothing repaired I guess it too far from election to expect to see anything getting do. Our quality of life slipping away here in the BVI and our leader more concerned with “saving” us from colonialism/UK. Save us from poverty and third world infrastructure first nuh!?

AND HAUL TAIL IT BACK TO THE OVERGROWN BUSHES. You can take the man out the bushes but you can’t take the bushes out of the man.

Lamentable that people should draw satisfaction from some one else’s misery but point well made.

That the HVAC is not working at Peebles comes as no surprise. Maintenance is not part of the BVI govt vocabulary. It costs money that one doesn’t see the benefit of because things keep working. Instead, let things go broke and then fix them which costs more money that can be spent on juicy contracts for the well-connected. SMH

Forever and a day these VI have been deprived of water by the Government ..A documented global Human Rights violation, in addition to polluted air, unfit for breathing. Thanks to the open air burning of all the islands trash. Increased and popular are the fatalities and chronic illnesses as a result. Roads are in disrepair and contributing to accidents and vehicle Mashup. Plenty costly repairs especially for those whose salary increments have been lies and promises and will never be accepted by a mechanic in lieu of payment. Cars are a dire necessity to facillitate the task of earning our daily bread and shelter. There is no municipal transport. In order to remain be on the go one must beg borrow steal or invest in an unaffordable transport by juggling the necessary bills.
Big deal there is no Air Conditioning. It is not a must have and nor is it a Human Right. It is a relatively new luxury ..Fans are more than adequate..open a window/s for healthier andfresh air, plug them in an electrical socket.
    Problem solved .Repairman soon come.

Standing hours in line in the hotsun due to absence of a functioning ATM sweating and knowing that the luxury of a shower at home is a fantasy..that is problem!!!
Sin H2O..ese Catastrophe..mek noise fo dat.

Sometimes truth can be harsh but it is true .
The point she is making is not to say she is not sympathetic with the PS
She is just giving the facts that as leaders and people in position to do better we should do so the services offered to all can bebof better quality service .

We take things oetsonal that is why we will all continue to get backlash.
You may not agree but the majority of you grumble behind closed doors . She has the courage to say it

Firstly I hope Mr Frett gets better soon.
Secondly Cindy is not known for being the most tactful of persons but she is bold and honest. And as a poster said she says what many people are thinking. We elected a govt that does NOT give a rat’s axx if the country sinks so long as their bank account getting bigger. They can go overseas for treatment which I’m sure they do so DDOS hospital could break down its not a biggy for them but hope they enjoy the next couple years cause if that bunch get back in I’m doing like Cindy says and book a flight out.

    Cindy, you’ve done it again!

You have made an interesting juxtaposition between economics, and health care..

And that is what I love about you Cindy!

We need to be reminded, MORE OFTEN, of these types, of “juxtapositions”..

    Thank you!

Call her crazy all you want, I love me some Cindy. If more of us had a short fuse like her, maybe the losers running the country wouldn’t be so comfortable knocking us around and neglecting their duties.

For all of you who were offended by Cindy’s statement, I hope you see how fast the AC got fixed after he ended up in there.
