Five Haitians detained after being refused leave to land in BVI

Nearly half-dozen Haitians were detained after being refused leave to land in the territory days ago.

The five Haitians were under what is known as an ‘Immigration Detention Warrant’, BVI News understands.

Usually-credible sources said the Haitian group, which comprised four males and one female, was subsequently removed from the territory on December 23.

The circumstances under which they were refused leave to land is not known.

But, according to Section 23 of the territory’s Immigration and Passport Ordinance law, an Immigration officer may only grant a person leave to enter the territory if he/she is satisfied that the person — among other things — has a valid ticket or permit, is not suffering from any contagious or infectious disease, is not a person who is reasonably believed to have come in the territory for any immoral purpose, has not been convicted in any place for an offence that is punishable in the BVI for three years or more.

How come this crap is ok in the racist BVI but when the US refuses to allow thousands of Central Americans the local Africans are first to criticize Trump. You are all racist from top to bottom, not just against whites but Hispanics and your own African brethren. You are a hateful people and nature is taking its due course against you. Bye Bye BVI

Is time for the bvi to remove people like this individual to be removed from the island. If he wants to be so generous – take is space and his family members and remove them from the island. Let him and them find another Caribbean island to enter as FREE as he is running his foolish mouth.

The Law is the Law – Why not give up your residence to them or make an equal exchange – you go and enter where they came from and let them come and take over your space in the BVI. The Law is the Law and you should appreciate your own opportunity and stop pointing negative fingers at the Law. Do you OPEN your DOOR and LET EVERYONE WHO KNOCKS AT YOUR DOOR IN.
THE VIOLENCE HAS TAKEN OVER THE BVI VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS COMING ALL DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE CARIBBEAN – LET THE BVI WORK TOWARDS REBUILDING AND RETURN TO ITS SUCCESSFUL PATH. CONTINUED RECOGNIING ALL THE TRUE ANCESTORS OF THE BVI. THE HISTORY OF THE LIVES AND THE SUPPORT THEY GAVE TO MAKE THE BVI WHAT IT IS TODAY. THOSE WHO HAD BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY – WORK HARD – HARD TOWARDS GIVING BACK TO THE BVI THAT HELPED CHANGE YOUR LIFE. IF YOU DON’T LIKE TO LAW – THEN IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO LEAVE.
