Four arrested in connection to BVI’s 2020 murders

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has made headway into the only two murders to happen in the territory this year.

In a statement to the media on Tuesday, the RVIPF’s Information Unit said four suspects have been taken into custody.

“The RVIPF can confirm that three persons were taken into custody in relation to the murder of Matthew Daley, and one person taken into police custody in relation to the murder of George Burrows,” police said.

“No further details can be released at this time,” they added.

Burrows was gunned down in Purcell Estate on Tortola around 9:30 pm on Wednesday, September 2.

Days later on September 10, 55-year-old Daley was shot and killed in the Spring Ghut area of Tortola. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No known motive has been established for either of the killings.
