Fraser bemoans the impact frequent travel has on Premier

Fraser

Deputy Premier Julian Fraser has welcomed Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley back to the territory, noting the toll that frequent overseas engagements can have on the territory’s leader.

Premier Wheatley recently returned from a high-level CARICOM meeting held in Jamaica. Speaking during the July 9 broadcast of the Virgin Islands Voice programme, Fraser expressed his relief at the Premier’s return.

“Welcome back to the territory, Premier. It’s always nice to have you here. I hate to see you travel as much as you do — you get tired after a while,” the Third District Representative said, drawing faint smiles from the other government officials seated at the table.

While official travel is a routine part of ministerial duties, Premier Wheatley’s administration has faced public criticism over what some residents view as excessive travel, especially as pressing issues persist at home.

Still, the administration continues to defend its travel schedule, arguing that physical attendance at global forums strengthens the BVI’s position on the international stage and builds valuable partnerships.

According to government members, international stakeholders have repeatedly stressed that the BVI risks losing access to financial and other support when it is not represented at key decision-making tables.

You hear stupidness? Natalio looks forward to be traveling up and down at the expense of the public. We see no benefits at all from all this travel. He however gets to travel the world and stay in the best hotels and eat the best food. None of which he would have been able to do unless he was in that job. He gets to rack up frequent flyer miles that he gets to keep for his personal travel use whenever he wants. Natalio doesn’t want to do any work whatsoever so he travels up and down pretending he is busy.
Fraser is such a sell out. He will say this crap because he got an Audi and he could also travel up and down.

If you listen to natalio at the Jamaica meeting his comments are childish, he shows that he had just begin to learn and gain awareness, so he totally not a contributor to that meeting but to be diplomatically given the floor to say his name and where he is from, he ran his mouth throwing acting police commissioner vanterpool under the bus by biging up the deputy commissioner who is of Jamaican decent and then pretend they supporting vanterpool.
Just pure child play on the media about what he learn on this travel, he has no idea, it’s a learning experience for him and not a contributory one at these meetings and travel.

AND WHEREAS the Premier and Minister of Finance continues to squander public resources on matters that bring no financial returns to the people of Virgin Islands including; his non-stop party following the inaugural flight of American Airlines from Miami to Beef Island, the failed Virgin Islands Music Festival 2024, approximately $300,000 USD to sponsor the Vybz Kartel show, the constant international traveling by him and his colleagues compliments of the public’s purse with no results to show while other important initiatives remain unfunded or underfunded.

You made me laugh when I thought about the upcoming elections. I have no idea what the Government is going to say on the rostrum. I say this because the $7 million dollar plane investment is child’s play when you sit and you look at the millions and millions and millions of dollars spent on just travel, partying, et, etc, etc.

I really hope the people are thinking this voting season because if this crazy spending continues we will end up in the poor house and what a shame that would be where a country of 35,000 with a half a million budget yearly bottomed out. You never let children mind the candy jar. They will only be left with sticky fingers.

“Baiting the BVI tax payers, the greedy Bill our honourable’s still think they’re better than the working man who has no water, no roads, intermittent power” slow, to costly, sporadic internet.

And, social security and pesion incomes to small to meet the daily/monthly requirements of this ridiculously expensive society.

To also include the callous neglect of the elders, seniors, reirees and others.

They are ignored by the Greedy Bill recipients, and their constituents are all silently screaming in insufficient funds to get by.

The elected men of our government demonstrate daily their disdain for those on the lower end of the financial spectrum as they continue to enrich themselves and family.

But the Lord do not like ugly and he will deal. with them and their appropriated peoples riches.

Karma will hit hard when it does.

    • @JEALOUSY GONNA KILL AYO says:

All it tells us is what a failure he has been, you seen the absolute neglect in District 3

    • Lol says:

Fraser has longevity but nothing to show for it. Has been spared due to being in the opposition and playing sympathy game but very ineffective as a leader. Him and Roger have Sea Cows bay a bloody mess and filthy. It’s a crying shame what this district looks like for a man elected in one community since 1999.

    • @Jealousy says:

Boy don’t flatter yourself there. I’m more ashamed than jealous this this form of leadership. I have to drive through this district to go west end and it’s unorganized. Everytime I drive by the community center I want to vomit. At the meeting Thursday, I heard Parillon ask about the dumping of cars around that area and I had to stop and take a good look on my way to work.

Thanks for your years but this country needs to move on.
