Fraser promises AC fix at Ebenezer Thomas Primary by end of week

Students and teachers at the Ebenezer Thomas Primary School in Sea Cows Bay can now expect repairs to the education facility’s air-conditioning unit as it has been out of commission for quite a while.

The promise was made by Third District Representative Julian Fraser at the reopening of the school for the new academic year on Monday, September 12.

Fraser said when he was on his way to the school yesterday morning, a parent approached him about getting some fans in the school.

“This is a story I have been hearing for maybe 20 years. Every time the school year begins there is a school that needs fans, but we have graduated to the point where our schools are air-conditioned. You know they have clipped our wings at the House of Assembly so we can’t say, don’t worry the fans will be coming before midday. We can’t do that anymore,” Fraser said.

“So, I said okay, let me find out what is wrong with your air conditioner. Getting fans is not the answer, the answer is fixing the air conditions. So, let me find out what is wrong with the air conditioner. I learnt that the air-conditioning needs maintenance so it can get up and running. I presume that at some point someone is going to ask me to say something this morning and I would like to say something to you back,” the Third District Representative stated.

“And something I want to say to you back is that you should have your air-conditioning up and running and if it doesn’t get up and running before the weekend let me know because I spoke to the minster and I was assured the maintenance people would come here and fix the air-conditioning,” Fraser said.

Yesterday, he was an architect and civil engineer alleging that Irma’s damage was not related to poor construction practices in the Territory. Today, he’s an HVAC contractor, promising a fix in four days. What when that does not happen? Will he morph into an apologist, as in “clipped wings” (exclusively the BVI governments doing)? Or, will it be the usual finger pointing?

It’s one thing you could say about Fraser is that he always deliver the goods.

    You’re just jealous of him.

  4. TurtleDove says:

We spend millions on buildings and systems and don’t understand they last longer and are more efficient with continued maintenance? I don’t understand this behavior at all.

  5. Jergens says:

This is the extent of his aspirations for third the district? Nothing new has happened in that district for the past 20 years. It is time to give another person a chance. I am tired of these placement holders.

  6. Concern Parent says:

The Ministry of Education and the Chief Education Officer needs to do better when it comes to the maintenance of these schools. The schools was closed
for 2 months and still certain things wasn’t fix. It’s so funny that you can find money to purchase 2 new trucks which is being driven by the maintenance officer and the Chief Education Officer. And yet we still don’t have money to purchase items that the school needs daily. This Government needs to do better they fail to see that these kids are the future of the country. If your in a hot environment the kids won’t be able to learn.

You mean to tell me you slow learning or hard to retain slow people did not have simple common sense to know that the AC system in the school was supposed to be serviced and in order before school started? The song says BUSS CHEST, I SAY BUSS SKULLS FOR BEING SO STUPID.

  9. LMAO says:

@so tell me, I am in agreement with your comment. They had the whole summer to make sure the AC for the school was survived and ready for the new school year. This is not rocket science. My pet dog probably knows that, only thing is he can’t talk.
