Freeman finally sentenced for 2012 offence

Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste DaBreo has found Eric Freeman guilty of handling stolen goods.

The offender was subsequently fined $3,000 for the offence which he reportedly committed in 2012.

Freeman has until August 8 to pay the fine or he will serve six months at Her Majesty’s Prison.

He reportedly handled two stolen power tools – a screw gun, and a cordless drill.

The prosecution reported that, some time in the year 2012, Freeman handed the tools over to a man who was responsible for selling them.

Both men reportedly agreed that the tools were to be sold within the first two weeks of August 2012.

The court heard that, after having a subsequent conversation with Freeman, the would-be seller became suspicious of the tools he had received.

As a result, he reported the matter to the police.

The tools were handed over to law enforcers who launched an investigation.

Freeman was arrested on suspicion of theft.

During an initial interview with police, the offender claimed that he received the power tools from a friend who had visited him from Florida, United States.

After that interview concluded, Freeman reportedly requested another interview. He claimed that he ‘did not speak the truth’ during the first one.

Freeman told police during the second interview that he had received the tools from a former employee of Tool Town.
