Gang related? How a teen sustained multiple stab wounds

It seems there is an uptick in gang-related feuds among teens in the territory. BVI News has received information that an 18-year-old young man was attacked and seriously injured by one of his peers earlier this week.

It’s understood that the incident occured in the Sea Cow’s Bay community while the victim and his friend were at a community centre. Reports are that the victim was approached by his attacker — another 18-year-old male — who attempted to start an argument.

When the victim tried to ignore the confrontation, his attacker pulled a knife and started to stab him. It’s alleged that the victim ran but was chased and stabbed multiple times. Other young people who were at the scene reportedly intervened and prevented the victim from sustaining more stab wounds.

It’s understood that the victim was later taken to hospital where he was treated and admitted for his injuries which were reportedly deemed serious. BVI News was told that he received wounds in his abdomen and other parts of his body.

It’s not clear whether he has been released from hospital.

In the meantime, highly placed sources say the young man who attacked his peer also showed up to the hospital for treatment. It’s understood that he gave the authorities his account of the incident, stating that he was attacked.

It’s also alleged that his injuries were minor and he refused to give a formal statement or press charges against his alleged attacker.

It’s unclear whether the young men will face the court to answer to charges, but BVI News understands that they are both from rival friend groups.

This incident of youngsters sustaining injuries in a fight comes just a week after BVI News reported a similar incident where another young man was attacked and injured by a group of his peers. It’s alleged that the teens were feuding over a motorized scooter.

The governor need to send those boys to the UK. The social Justice Minister will do good with them. Or the new prison Boss create the exchange system with the UK. Most idle 18 year old will find those activities to do. Silliness!

There is a serious problem in the UK that involves youths like this and their penchant for stabbing people. The route of that problem is people coming to the UK and populating the estates with fatherless youths who then grow up to blame society for their own choices. Sending more to live on the estates is not going to help in any way whatsoever. If anything the UK should be sending them back, take a load of knives off the streets.

I cry for the state of journalism in this place.

Gang related caption but a reported and alleged Scooter theft motive. Jezzzusss take the wheel.

Lots of rival friend groups here- Rotarty Sunrise, Rotary Road town, Rotary Guyana. 🙂 – and you dont see the stabbing each other or calling themselves a gang.
Connect your dots. Research and build your story, man. Jeez

Why has no one been arrested? This level of crime can not be ignored. Sounds like attempted murder.

What does it mean by “it is unclear if they will “face the court to answer to charges”. That sounds like attempted murder to me, and people are dragged through the court for less, which sometimes take years to be heard.

If your old enough to stab someone in public the people want to know your names so we know whom to avoid.

less than 18 years old are considered incapable of indictable crimes. The law is clear but these teens attempting murder should be charged as adults regardless of their age.

These fleas killing each other is a service to the Community. Go tell their unknown fathers or the mother of the litter.

Attempting murder against the elderly is a demonic crime and against any and all tourists is a real crime worth reporting..against the economic future of these Islands. So tell the story about real crime. Enabling real crime is a crime within itself.
