Gospel Fest | Village blessed ahead of official opening

Several local and regional acts officially blessed the festival village on Thursday through a Gospel Fest, making way for the official opening of the activities on Friday.

The God Movement, Verne Profit, Oneyke, Dylan J, Joy Praise, Gabrielle Danae and Guyanese Samuel Medas pelted melodious songs to a receptive crowd until after 11 pm.

In the meantime, the festival village will be opened from July 26 to August 6. However, the festivities will officially end on August 10.

International stars such as Trinidadian Machel Montano, Destra, Voice and Olatunji, Grenada’s Mr Killa, the Virgin Islands/American duo Rock City, Jamaican stars Popcaan, Romain Virgo and Tarrus Riley, and Calypso veteran Baron are slated to perform.

Local acts will include the Prime Time Band, Monea, Sistah Joyce, VIBE, OMG, and Adam O.

The British Virgin Islands will be celebrating 65 years of emancipation and officials say the territory’s culture will be highlighted throughout the various activities this year.
