Governor says he’s fine after shoulder injury

Governor Daniel Pruce yesterday assured the territory that he is doing well, after dislocating his shoulder sometime last week.

On the Governor’s official Facebook page, Pruce was pictured wearing a cast and a smile as he thanked the staff at the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital where he received treatment.

“I dislocated my shoulder last week — the legacy of an injury from many years ago. I’m grateful to the amazing team at the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital for taking care of me,” Governor Pruce said. “I’ll continue working this week, albeit on lighter duties. Many thanks for the kind messages of support.”

The Facebook post received much engagement as users used the opportunity to wish the Governor a speedy recovery.

“Wishing you a speedy recovery, Governor!” government consultant Kedrick Malone said.

“Sending you well wishes for a quick recovery!” the National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands commented.

“Get well soon,” wrote businessman Kareem Nelson-Hull.

“Sorry to hear that, Sir. Do get well soon. Prayers gone up,” Deputy Police Commissioner Jackie Vanterpool said.

The leader did not say exactly what he was doing when he sustained the injury but one Facebook user enquired openly: “Doing what, if I may ask?” the user said beneath the Governor’s Facebook post.

BVI governors have generally finished their terms in good health and there have been no reports of life-threatening injuries or illnesses sustained by any of the UK representatives during their tenure here.

You’re not implying that the restless natives should be allowed to run about willy nilly is the streets? In fact, they may begin to simulate copulation with one another while parading through the streets. Best to keep them on a short leash. Very short.

Show some concern for your leaders people. You dont have to like the man, but respect the office he holds. Do the same for all our leaders. Even those at your workplace, home, church, and the community.

    Get well soon Governor!!
