Here’s why Mitch has dubbed the Premier “Nat-Andrew”

Representative of the Second District, Melvin ‘Mitch’ Turnbull.

Second District Representative Melvin ‘Mitch’ Turnbull has dubbed Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley “Nat-Andrew”, saying the territory’s leader is displaying attributes similar to his predecessor — former Premier Andrew Fahie.

Speaking at a press conference the day after Opposition members walked out of the House of Assembly, Turnbull said if leaders aren’t careful, the territory could experience events similar to what occurred in April last year when Andrew Fahie was arrested in the United States on drug trafficking charges.

“If you don’t pay attention to what happened in the past, you’ll repeat it. I see trends, actions, actions and attitudes [similar] to what led this government to where we ended up in April 2022,” Turnbull stated. “[It’s] this egotistic, narcissistic behaviour where because you have the majority, you feel you can do what you want. But you have an Opposition who is trying to extend the olive branch to support the advancement of our country.”

Turnbull also said whenever he is pressed about the state of the territory’s affairs, Premier Wheatley plays the blame game, hinting that this is similar to what former Premier Andrew Fahie did during his tenure.

“When I hear the Premier talk, I almost hear “Nat-Andrew” — because you hear this blame game of who did what. We are not at that place. The Virgin Islands is at a critical stage of its life,” Turnbull explained.

In the meantime, Turnbull addressed the suspension of the Trade Commission, which Opposition members strongly rejected, saying Trade Minister Lorna Smith was allowed to delay the institution simply because Premier Wheatley is afraid to say no to her.

And he said members of the government must step aside if they are unable to lead the territory at this critical time, adding that the Opposition members are willing to lead from the back.

After the Opposition’s walk-out on October 31, Premier Wheatley hit back at them, saying a number of his opponents are agitating because they want to take his spot as Premier of the BVI.

However, at the press conference, Turnbull seemingly responded to Premier Wheatley’s statement, saying VIP supporters constantly call members of the Opposition and ask them to join the government because the Premier needs their support.

All Mitch want is power. His hands are not clean. They should do a full investigation of when he was a minister and of what he really did with his district vote. He plays scared tactics and act as if the only time anything can be done right is if he or any of his close family of like mind does it. He is co**upt to the core.

First let me make it clear that while I am not a fan of the Premier, I can say Mitch is ten times worse. Just a few months ago this same Mitch was singing Natalio’s praises when he was a Minister of Government under him in the Unity Government. He is consumed with titles and power. When challenged, He likes to jump out first in the public with accusations about others to look good, and seem as if he has integrity, but he is a wolf in sheep clothing. He sent his family behind the scenes to Natalio and VIP to negotiate with the same Natalio to be a Minister in this present VIP government while he Mitch stayed in the back so if it didn’t work out, he can do what he is doing now and claimed it is not true but rather it is the VIP who reached out to him and others. Anything he is in is confusion. He helped to mash up Orlando and disrespected him and the NDP while using them for his own personal gain and contracts for his brother. He used the same fahie to get the same. He is now mashing up PVIM and attacking Ronnie for leadership but putting others to do the dirty work. He is mashing up the Opposition behind the scenes by bad talking Myron and a few others. He is a hypocrite and cuts plenty deals on the side through family being put in front. This man is bad news, and his exposure is coming.

People are so blinded going to that church of theirs where a pastor doesn’t hide choosing to live in the ways of the world then using the pulpit to try to look good.

God will not be mocked and those who support that foolishness only support it because they have a pastor who condones their sinful/worldly behaviour.

First of all Head Coach is in a class of his own I think it’s going to be a while before anybody takes the crown away from him as worst leader we ever had.

Slow dawg in his own world thinking he can negotiate for BVI government being able to do what it wants no matter how retarded yet still be able to depend on England like that make sense.

The Premier don’t ever take responsibility for nothing its always somebody else fault or he hasn’t been there long enough to fix the problem while continuing to ignore the problem; then when the blows get too hot he’s like who is you to criticize me you didn’t fix the problem either.
We barely seeing any progress on any of the territories serious issues it’s like a sick out or a protest got to happen first to get these people to do their job it’s crazy. Even the opposition had to do it because it comes like that’s the only way to get their attention.
Meanwhile dude cant miss a UN meeting even though they don’t study him. My poor BVI, salt on top of salt. It’s our fault though y’all cant call him accidental Premier no more.

Mitch has amnesia? We haven’t forgotten the way he grossly disrespected the past Premier Hon. Dr Smith. He was also a Minister for almost a year, what did he do different to what he is complaining about now? Wasn’t he in Africa with his Wife on Government dime a few weeks ago? Did he tell the press why he went all the way to Africa on taxpayer money and how the BVI benefit from this trip? Wouldn’t that money have been better spent doing a food pantry or otherwise for the needy people?

This is the mindset of the Virgin Islands. If you examine the situation very closely you will realize that the same principles that are at work in Palestine are at work here in these islands. Colonialism has produced people who are drunk on the wine of fornication with the beast system with the intention of killing stealing and destroying. There is no love or unity individualism has become the order of the day we are divided every which way and this has all been by design to keep us fighting and failing. As things and times become more crucial the more foolish we become as we self destruct.

  17. @come on you guys says:

Tired is not the word, more like mental exhaustion. People for real, take it to the streets and you will get a solution. Kudos to the parents of Jost Van Dyke for taking it to the streets and standing up for the rights and protection of your children. If they did not take it to the streets, their children would have been still going to the same deplorable trap of a school that is unfit for humans.

Mr. Black Label busy filling his cup while the youngin’s holding their breath for the (5) years to obtain lifelong pensions!!

Water issues, roads crumbling, schools in a mess, vendors not being paid, cost of living rising and the government have no clue how to stymie any of these problems. Yet according to the head honcho – the economy is robust and moving along nicely – wow!

How much longer will we have to suffer and slide further down the abyss before we realize that we are lacking effective and steadfast leadership? What will the territory look like in 5-10 years from today?

  26. To Order in Council says:

We are not living in colonial first world antiquated times anymore.

We are now living in times when not even first world neocolonialism can run rough shod over so called Third World countries any more.

We are living in modern times where, except for the Gaza Strip, all human, political, judicial, Sovereign, economic and living rights must be respected and not interfered with or trampled upon.

After the emancipation in 1834, the Black People lived here unmolested, undiscovered and uninterrupted for another hundred and fifty plus years before the colonialist came knocking again. That history is succintly documented.

Because of that significant elapse in considerable time, where they, the Black. Freed People, were the only occupiers of said lands that their ancestors toiled on from can’t see in the morning to can’t seat night, and not earning a dollar, pound, shilling or pence, making the slave owners rich.

Indeed, neither the UK nor the replacement of the Constitution with another instrument, the, that does not take into consideration of the Sovereignty of the people will be undemocratic and inhuman.

Moreover. The Order in Council is a modern day colonial slave whip being held high in the hands of the English man waiting to bring it down across the backs of the Virgin Islands people, as he can no longer physically do so in real time here and now. And, that is the general consensus and meaning of your statement, sadly.

Hence, such a comment is clearly fueled by severe prejudice, hatred and racism and antiquated thoughts for the Black people of this territory.

The eradication of prejudice, hatred and racism towards Black people will never occur by the free will of white people, but know that Black people will not sit or stand idly by and be disadvantaged in history again.

The Black people of this territory, because of their long existence on the lands, do have full equal rights to those lands as any another colonial power. To suggest otherwise is to consider them less than humans and not deserving of a home of their own.

We know no one in Africa, and we have no land to go back there to. This here is our homeland now.We toiled on it for centuries. Does that not mean anything to you?

Give it the truth considerations and leave us alone. We are humans just like you!

There should be a spending cap on how much of the TAXPAYING
monies is to be used on travel when Politicians travel. If they are traveling on business and decide to take their spouse, the spouse should be paying for their own travel expenses not the taxpayers. Mitch saw an opportunity for him and his wife to go to Africa all expenses paid on the taxpayers back.Did he came back with any useful information that will better the Territory? Mr. Mitch, you are walking on thin ice, don’t let the thin ice crack.Look at his community, starting to look like the ghetto.

Now he is running behind slow Ronnie as a last resort. Mitch your Political career is almost about over.
