Humane Society burglarised! Masked crook caught on camera

The Humane Society of the BVI which cares for unwanted animals in the territory has been burglarised, and according to reports, the masked thief, who was caught on camera, carted off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

In a social media post on Wednesday, the non-profit organization sarcastically wrote: “Today, we would like to say ‘thank you’ to the person that broke into the shelter office last night and stole money and tickets to an upcoming event.”

The post continued: “This area is separate to the animals. We are very upset. The shelter is under immense pressure to not only run this facility and care for the animals but also the task of building a new shelter. Last week we flew ten dogs to a new life. But within three days, five adult dogs and two cats came in. But we keep going because we are dedicated to animal welfare.”

The Humane Society shared a screenshot from surveillance footage showing the masked burglar inside the property. The non-profit organisation is now urging anyone with information on the culprit to come forward.

While confirming the incident, centre manager Vijay Bishoondat
said police are currently investigating the matter.

He was unable to provide any more details as that could compromise the ongoing probe into the incident.

Are things really that bad for that person. They must have known about the fundraiser, the location of the funds, can’t just be a random burglary. And if looking at the pattern, it started in CGB, then headed to town and Purcell. Sickening. Is this person stuck on a boat and coming onto the mainland at night to collect cash, drinks, bread, what is really going on.
