Hurricane Dorian in photos

Hurricane Dorian might not have brought any major damage as it passed the BVI on Wednesday, August 28, but it left enough evidence to show it caused significant disturbance to the territory.

Besides power outages, floods, and disruption in water supply, the weather system — which had maximum sustained winds of 80 miles per hour as it passed — also carried enough strength to displace heavy-duty drainage covers.

It uprooted trees and road signs, toppled wooden structures and utility poles and also claimed parts of roofs in the process.

Dorian also deposited debris across the territory.

Following its passing, emergency workers and first-responders worked overnight to begin rectifying the disruption.

Here are photo highlights of what remained when BVI News roved sections of Tortola following the curfew that lifted at 6 o’clock Thursday morning.

Looks like tola repaired with tinfoil and thumb tacks. Not even 100mph and all these things go flying. If was worse, these items would of been the spark in the pouderkeg to start another catastrephy. People make sure you secure your property to avoid it causing damage to others well prepared.
