He’s a Vincentian visitor! Identity of RT murder victim now discovered

The police have now ascertained the identity of the man murdered in the parking lot across from UP’s Cineplex two weeks ago on Sunday, February 12.

He has been identified as 23-year-old Jahkeem Christopher of St Vincent and the Grenadines who was visiting the BVI.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said in a media release moments ago that he was positively identified by family members residing on Tortola.

“Detectives have so far charged one man, Hasani Frett, 37, of Greenland in his death. Frett faces the charges of murder, inflicting grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life,” the RVIPF stated.

When Frett appeared before Magistrate Kadeen Palmer recently, the court learned that the accused man was not the shooter in the fatal incident. Frett is currently on remand at His Majesty’s Prison in Balsam Ghut.

In the meantime, RVIPF said, “detectives are aware that other persons were involved in the murder and are therefore seeking any information that could help with identifying the other assailants.”

“Persons can contact Crimestoppers tipline number anonymously at 800-8477 or 1-284 800-8477. Alternatively, persons can call 368-9345,” the police added.

  4. Investigate family says:

From a legal mind, I must ask myself why is the family members hiding that they just coming forward. They must have known before or suspect that it could be him. What were they trying to get rid of before they identify the body. Get some more info from the vincentian police, check out whose address he gave when he came in.

The police in bvi are pretty slack as well. After three days and no one came forward, place his photo in the news to get some help to ascertain identity. If the family never came forward you would have kept him at the funeral home for years until he is identified.

The police needs to be more proactive. Any police sergeant from Trinidad, Barbados Jamaica could manage this detail of men.

It took all this time for his family to identify him and they live in Tortola? Maybe they knew what he was into and did not care to come forward.

Thats all persons like you are good for. Sit behind your phone and blog your guts. What do you know. People all over the world get up and go where they want. Do you think he would have put on a gps system for his family is he was out with wrong intentions? If it have a John Doe in one country, how somebody else miles away will even imagine that it is their relative.

  10. @ Investigate Family says:

You make sense in other areas but this statement isn’t logical.

“After three days and no one came forward, place his photo in the news to get some help to ascertain identity. If the family never came forward you would have kept him at the funeral home for years until he is identified.“

He probably had no ID on him and what funeral home would hold a body for years?

It’s strange though that the family didn’t check earlier especially if he was visiting.

I am wondering how long he has been here under the guise of ‘visitor’. I think that would be interesting information to have.

  13. SunSkn says:

Interesting …still no photos of deceased.
No need to stir the memories of persons who ,with a face, could connect actions that would benefit the investigation.
Too much pretend bs in this BVI. Treating the public as if they are dunce is really tiresome and insulting.

deport all his family that took so long to identify him, they are not upstanding citizens and need to be gone

St Vincent, measuring approx 113 square miles, a free and Independent country in the Caribbean with majority Black population, is currently listed as # 7 in the World Record of yearly murders. This demograph as well as the other infamous high on the chart killing Caribbean fields, now comprise a large part of the population that are knowingly and systematically imported and installed in the BVI where immigration is solely under the jurisdiction of the local elected Government. The murder rate in the BVI that was not too long ago, zer0(0)is fast becoming another example of failure with murder and Gov corruption the norm as expected. Whose to blame. Everybody lookin’somebody to blame,

  16. Secret Ways says:

    Question?

Was this guy a visitor or a HIT-MAN?. Did he came to the BVI on a special mission. Some of these murders in this Territory are HIT-MAN mission.

I don’t believe that this was a robbery. I feel it is something deeper than this. Something else involved.

If you went to a night club or bar to enjoy yourself, why will you walk with a gun.?

  17. hmmmm!!!! says:

@secret ways ..i was thinking the same thing …something is not right here. also there is also a possibility he was murdered and the mask was placed over his head after.

  18. Result says:

The ideal would be to give his family- clan 3 days and then be escorted along with his remains in a bodybag to a direct flight to StVincent and the Grenadines with no permission to re ntering.
Then a restriction placed on immigants entering the VI for a given. ( ex 2 years)

  19. Oh well says:

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. What is a visitor doing riding around masked and armed. Another imported criminal off the streets.

  20. SMH says:

Inquiring minds want to know how it stated that guns were recovered with the body. There was no mention of that in the news.

  21. ?? says:

I’m wondering, was he a first time visitor or been here before.?
