I’m not following Andrew Fahie’s case in the United States

Opposition legislator, Marlon Penn.

Opposition legislator Marlon Penn has said he is not following the cocaine scandal involving former Premier Andrew Fahie and his two co-accused Oleanvine and Kadeem Maynard.

Penn made the statement when host of the Morning Braff radio show, Floyd ‘Heritage’ Burnett, asked him to give his opinion on Fahie’s request to have his court case pushed from July 17 to November of this year, as he needs more time to prepare for his appearance.

“Yes, Honourable Penn, were you surprised when you heard our good friend Alturo (Andrew Fahie) say he needs more time?” Burnett asked.

“I wasn’t following the case, you know? So I don’t know whether I was surprised or not,” responded Penn who served as Opposition Leader while Fahie was still Premier of the Virgin Islands.

He gave no other comments on the matter.

The former Premier is on house arrest in a Miami apartment as he prepares to stand trial alone following a decision made by his two accused to plead guilty to conspiracy to import cocaine, in exchange for lighter sentences.

Fahie, who is standing strong on his “not guilty plea”, is taking time to gather all the necessary information he will need to fight the case that will determine the trajectory of his life. In his request to push his court date to November, Fahie asked the court to fulfill an earlier request to reveal the identity of the prosecution’s confidential source that had given evidence against him.

Elected officials and public figures have largely shied away from commenting on Fahie’s trial.

Former House Speaker Julian Willock recently spoke frankly about the matter, stating that Andrew Fahie did not get adequate support from the government when he was arrested on drug-related charges in the United States last year.

When people tell these simple lies you know for sure you cannot trust them. He is not a leader and the quicker the NDP cowbirds realize this the better it will be for them. Now you could add being a liar to it. There is not one single person in the BVI who is not following the Andrew Fahie case. Not one. If he is not following it then he should not be a leader of anything because the reputation of the BVI will be at stake during this trial.

No matter what his answer was it would have been news. But that wasn’t the appropriate answer..The proper answer was “The latest I saw was the Maynards pleading guilty and Foy asking for an extension, so we will wait and see”. Thats all for now..!! That answer was a blatant lie. No wisdom..

  32. Secret Ways says:

I believe that {he} is glad or happy that Fahie was arrested and probably hand a hand in his arrest also? Is that why he is not following the case?

Remember [he] said that we have to come together and Unseat the Andrew Fahie Government and the VIP.

Shortly, after [he] made this statement about Unseating the Andrew Fahie Government and the VIP, two weeks later (on April 28, 2022) Fahie was arrested.
