Immigration officers get new uniform design

The Department of Immigration has updated the uniforms of all its officers.

It was unveiled to the public for the first time earlier this week.

Persons visiting the Department of Immigration on Monday, February 15, were the first to have a look at the new designs.

Chief Immigration Officer Ian Penn said both him and his officers approved of the new uniforms.

“The change of uniform is just one part of the department’s ongoing initiatives, and I am very happy and proud to see the new image being portrayed at our Ports of Entry,” Penn said.

“It is also important to note that senior officers will continue to wear a white shirt which serves to distinguish seniority from other officers at the ports,” he added.

Also sharing similar sentiments was Minister for Immigration, Vincent Wheatley.

He said: “I am quite pleased to see another positive change within the Immigration Department as it continues to build upon its service to the public. The new uniform is one of many changes being made in the department with many more to come.”

The new uniforms are just one of the many new features of the Department of Immigration, which also recently introduced a fully online automation system between itself and the Labour Department.

That’s exactly what we need to be spending our money on when we have so many of our people out of work and government funds are down due to no tourists and less people working.

Now, can you please get them new attitudes where that actually want to do their job, give the correct information and maybe even be more personable? Disgraceful arriving here sometimes to the unhappy miserable faces.

How about giving them some matching face masks with permanent smiles on them. Even when Covid is gone they should be required to wear them. I also think that the new uniforms were extremely necessary is this time of financial stress. Nobody coming in to see the uniforms. Wheatley get your head out of your a** man. Do something positive for the people not this nonsense s**t

Great job. Now work on a procedure manual so all the staff can be on the same page. No two officers know the same policy for the same case. Why? fix that. Oh and before you come at me. The immigration department is for immigrants. Your very existence is because of ex-pats so try to treat them with some god damn respect. Nice uniforms by the way. The lady to the left and the guy on the right is very friendly so I suppose it not all but there is always room for improvement.

I still think the white top had looked so more uniformed and professional, this blue make them look like security guards.

  9. Govt spending says:

Really? This is what is deemed essential, along with rebranding ports and airports during a pandemic? How about helping businesses struggling due to closed borders, people without money to eat or pay rent? If we have limited people passing through our borders and ports why are we dressing them up so nice at this time. Stupid, stupid, stupid government who really has no clue how to run a country and look after it’s people.

  10. Tom says:

who got the contracts to make/import those uniforms?

  11. Tola says:

    I don’t like it
