I’ve lost confidence in the Governor

Talk show host and public officer, Damian Grange.

Damion Grange, one of the hosts of the Talking Points radio show on ZBVI, has stated that he has lost confidence in Governor John Rankin and doesn’t believe he represents the people’s interest.

Speaking on the October 10 edition of Talking Points, Grange said Governor Rankin’s first quarterly report on how the Commission of Inquiry (COI) reforms are being implemented seemed like a ‘publicity campaign’ to label the BVI as a corrupt place.

In the report, Governor Rankin highlighted COI recommendations that the elected government were failing to implement in a timely manner. The Governor’s report also reiterated that the United Kingdom (UK) may take over the BVI government if it is not satisfied with the way the reforms are being done.

But Grange said the Governor should have discussed these shortcomings with the elected government instead of publishing them in a report.

“I’ve lost all confidence in the Governor at this point to represent the people of the BVI. The Governor is the chairman of the Cabinet, isn’t he? These things would be discussed at this table where the Governor sits. My question to the Governor would be: ‘did you raise these concerns while you were sitting at the table?’ Were they ignored? Is that why you now have to come with this public embarrassment, this big report, this publicity campaign to once again lambast the BVI as a corrupt place?” Grange said.

He continued: “Why didn’t you address it, right there and then, nip it in the bud so that we wouldn’t be here?”

The talk show host added that he doesn’t believe elected leaders would have ignored the Governor’s concerns especially because they know they run the risk of losing control of the government to the UK.

In addition to his feelings about the Governor, Grange said he believes the timelines to reform the BVI government are ridiculous and shouldn’t have been accepted by elected leaders. He said he has lost faith in the elected leader who agreed to implement the reforms according to the timelines set by the UK.

A year to settle old scores. We not voting for no judge by the way! And can someone tell me why the other site been retracting so many articles lately?

They retracted the story in Dove bottom church involving a sitting minister. They took down comments about the premier then reposted the article.

Even when they publish articles they omit comments they find critical of there prefer position.

Really getting tired of the yellow camp. I don’t mean to choose sides, but they wouldn’t even all me to critique the judge that made public comments about government business.

All I said was based on her track record as a judge, it’s hard to tell why so many young men in jail, and the street is loaded with criminals.

The UK has a plot to make us look corrupt so that they could do what they want. They will stop at nothing to arrest and charge locals whether they could prove the allegations or not. It not about what is right or wrong for these people. It is a plan to carry out their agenda. They brought in their own police force to do their dirty work for them. Bvi people stop letting these people pull the wool over your eyes. This is a take over.

Which country could implement all these new requirements in such a short span of time while continuing business as usual. We are short on Human Resources. I feel like the UK looks at us like we are a bigger territory than we really are because of our financial success. It’s a damn if u do, damn if you don’t situation. Go on the community board and see all the complaints about infrastructure, education, high prices etc. These are all stuff that government have to handle. If They fail they are fired but some would say that they don’t spend enough time focusing on these areas but now they also have to put these things aside to comply with the terms of the COI.

Outside of this region you have the northern Americas to include North Pole! To the south you have the southern Americas to include South Pole!

We are not new comers or aliens to the Americas, my dear Tola people. The only foreigners to the Americas are the ones who came after Christopher liar liar Columbus

I continue to be appalled at the deep underlying hatred that exists in the BVI among our some of our Caribbean brothers and sisters and generational BVI . I am more so appalled with the level of hate that come out on these blogs against our own black people in the BVI .
So you prefer the Governor to make the Government of the BVI look like a bunch of idiots than having a young person having the courage to speak out ? This is unbelievable.

I have nothing against the Governor nor the UK . However, common courtesy the Governor should have discussed this first with the Premier or the inside legislature before he send his findings . This is undermining of him . It shows the little regard he has for the people of this country . And those of you with this prejudice mind set is not healthy for you . Hatred will eat away from your soul like a cancer , hate creates stress, give rise to high blood pressure etc . Be careful with your thoughts

These fellow Blacks are recognizable curses. Their Karma is detrimental. Be it Willovk Cline Rosand or the hundreds enjoying occupancy at King Charles Prison and those on the outside hiding in full sight, they bring destructive energy with their interference and simply their presence. None such as Damion ever speak up not even their hustlers in the pulpits against the destructive presence of their countrymen in the BVI.Not even against their hood spawns in our schools toting and using brassknuckles and knives against fellow students. None against the careless speedboating resulting in loss of lives on our shorelines or the motor bikes on land.. Their unrelenting noisy nocturnal activities. Claiming that they are hated by the BVI when they are the major human import and settlers and with the permission of and accommodation of the BVIslanders is just one example of cursed ingratitude. None none at all out of the other hundreds of nationalities granted freedom and life to live here in the VI have created reasons to be despised but one race and demographic.
People like Damion should find time to blablah for good reason not when our Governor is Governing his (the Governor) territory, Serious Maan Jamaica u from !!! Go talk to your caged countrymen murderers and thieves etc up balo living life good, some for a lifetime courtesy of the UK.
