Jougo wins Road March | BVI Tribe is Best Adult Troupe

Raul “Jougo” Sprauve has won the 2026 Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival Road March competition, while BVI Tribe took first place in the Adult Troupe category at this year’s Festival Parade.

The Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee announced the results at the Lavida Cottoy Festiville following the 72nd Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival celebrations.

Jougo secured first place in the Road March competition with “Street Parade”. Ova Drive placed second with “Shake It”, while Jougo also shared third place with the songs “Go Crazy” and “Twist”.

The victory adds another Road March title to Jougo’s record. Last year, Jougo’s “Swerve” won the title, following a win for “Workout”, a collaboration with Adam O, which had won the 2024 Road March title. He had also won the competition in 2023.

Best troupe

BVI Tribe took first place among the adult troupes, ahead of Legacy VI in second place and Treasures of the BVI in third. BVI Tribe also won the troupe category at the 2024 Festival Parade.

Other 2026 winners included Kalíra: The Cultural Flame in the Individual category and MEYAS Majorettes in the Majorettes category.

Optimum Sky Dancers won the Mocko Jumbies competition, followed by Paradise Sky Dancers and Elite Sky Dancers. Culture Bearers took first place among the floupes, ahead of Kulturang Pinoy and Rotary Clubs of the BVI.

Shooting Stars Steel Orchestra won the Floats category, with Celebrating the People of District Six placing second and the Virgin Islands Party’s “Golden Roots, Green Horizons” taking third.

Treasurers Little Guardians of the Reef Lionfish won the Cheerleading category, while MEYAS PomPom placed second. Treasures Teens Guardians of the Reef – Parrot Fish won the Youth Troupe category.
