Kadeem Maynard confesses in cocaine conspiracy

Kadeem Maynard

Kadeem Maynard has now agreed, along with his mother Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard, to accept a plea agreement with prosecutors that sees him avoiding a possible life sentence in prison for charges related to drug and money laundering in the United States.

According to the plea agreement for the younger Maynard seen by BVI News, “the defendant (Kadeem) agrees to plead guilty to Count 1 of the superseding indictment, which charges the defendant with conspiracy to import cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 963 and 952(a).”

Yesterday, June 12, Prosecutors removed charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering and attempted money laundering from the indictment the Maynards faced, and agreed to recommend leniency at sentencing.

The agreement, as was expressed with Kadeem’s mother, hinges greatly on his full cooperation with prosecutors in their case against former premier, Andrew Fahie.

For his cooperation in the plea agreement, prosecutors determined that Kadeem was a “minor participant” in the criminal activity, and therefore should receive a two-level reduction at sentencing.

Kadeem further agreed to forfeit to the United States any property constituting, or derived from, any proceeds obtained, directly or indirectly, as a result of such offence, and any property used, or intended to be used, in any manner or part, to commit, or to facilitate the commission of, such offence, pursuant to Title 21, United States Code, Section 853

The document further advised that the court may also impose a statutory maximum sentence of up to life imprisonment, followed by a term of supervised release of at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release.

The Maynards each face “a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 10 years” unless the judge determines they are “safety valve eligible”, as stated in their plea agreements. They are now expected to be sentenced on August 21.

UPDATE: Maynard pleads guilty! Cuts deal to ‘cooperate fully’

I expect that in light of the Maynard’s guilty pleas, Head Coach will similarly enter a guilty plea as well.

It’s just a matter of time. Too much stacked against him to go to trial.

I’m like many others best she move out and move someplace else.

But guess what all their names going down in the books for this one. So all them women who like to run after drug man and drug life look at this.

  20. @Mrs. Wrong with the diarrhea mouth says:

Would you have felt better if these “people” were set up by other BVIslanders? Are they less criminals because outsiders came here, sold them a bill of goods that they went for hook, line and sinker, and went like goofs to the U.S. to “see” their money? God alone knows who or what you are, but you definitely are not a BVIslander who gives a rats azz for the BVI or its people. There is so much talk here about who is a BVIslander and who doesn’t qualify to be one. But it reads that someone like you would prefer to see this place drown under a set of lawlessness as long as what’s drowning us all is the U.S. Dollar. I hope whoever you are, you get everything you deserve.

Aren’t the Maynards BVIslanders? They aren’t expats, but they are willing to betray their Head Coach (or to quote Mrs. M “her little Premier (is a crook). I guess it’s okay for BVIslanders to sell out BVIslanders. It only becomes bad when it’s an expat doing the sell out. Jesus take the wheel.

The law is set up to protect women. So all you haters none of these women will be heavily charged.

    1. The young from SCB on bail
    2. The woman from the bank

And 3. The previous port boss. The laws are meant to protect women even when they are wrong
    .

So all you haters will get upset when these three either get no jail time or be freed

So me and my friend from SCB even thought we ain’t talking now we be chilling and drinking for weeks and months into years and she not seeing anymore prison time

What story? The affidavit submitted by the DEA agent. You know, the document used in the court of law. You should try reading that instead of social media posts.

  40. @@@ the square says:

I believe you, you’re probably a smart guy, maybe a lawyer, right?
But only the Maynard’s and fahie were arrested. Where’s the drug evidence? ‘Where’s the money?’ (To quote Biden).
