Law enforcement in the neighbouring US Virgin Islands have arrested a crew member of a local ferry company who allegedly had 5.18 kilos of cocaine aboard the vessel.

Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute is Shane Clarence Freeman, the Virgin Islands Daily News reports.

It is alleged that USVI law enforcement discovered the drugs aboard the Native Son, which offers ferry services between Tortola, BVI and St Thomas, USVI.

The drugs were allegedly found last week in a shopping bag hidden behind an air conditioning unit aboard the vessel.

It is reported that the bag contained bricks of a substance that allegedly field-tested positive for the cocaine.

USVI media reported that other crew members allegedly claimed to have seen the accused man bring the bag in question aboard the vessel.

It is further reported that a narcotics dog was alerted to the presence of the drug on Freeman’s person.

The cops knew exactly where to find the snow means someone drop some serious coins on someone. Every thing that is heading to St.Thomas or Tortola VIA Red Hook or the waterfront is on Homeland radar.Someone made sure the snow was not getting to Tortola. You all don’t want to get knock down here. You get caught they are going to stick it to you.

Leaving our community is one thing but having coming to our community is a no no. We already have an unstable community and the last things we need is drugs and illegal guns on our streets. Gun and drugs is too common and getting very bold these days. I’ve lost love ones due drugs and guns, either lost them in jail or in the graveyard.
