Legislators in COVID isolation
Opposition Leader Marlon Penn has announced he is in 10 days of self-isolation “in adherence with the government’s COVID-19 protocols”.
Penn gave that indication in a social media post on Thursday.
“Office hours at my District Office will be postponed until Wednesday 7th April. Sorry for any inconvenience,” Penn said.
While he did not explicitly state why he is in isolation, but BVI News understands that it is in connection to last Saturday’s funeral service in Sea Cow’s Bay that a COVID-19 patient attended.
Our news centre further understands that other legislators such as Premier Andrew Fahie, Health Minister Carvin Malone, and Second District Representative Melvin ‘Mitch’ Turnbull are also in isolation because of the said funeral.

As the spread was caused by a person who had tested positive and had been told to remain in quarantine but didn’t, can we expect a prosecution?
“Newswatch”. Since when in this country was anyone “connected “ held responsible for their wrongs?
Great example, wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. How do you expect to promote caution with this ass-clown act? Just sayin’.
These 4 ‘isolating’ legislators are a disgrace to their constituents. All 4 should be removed from the House of Assembly. Is is time for the Governor to disband this HoA and set a date for a snap election in June.
They’re a disgrace because they isolate based on recommendations of the health officials? Please help me understand your logic?
Do should really have test before person go behind a keyboard and type garbage.
