Letty delivers impassioned plea for missing granddaughter in US

Violet ‘Letty’ Deville is the grandmother of missing Florida teen Miya Marcano whose disappearance has sparked national interest in the United States.

Local businesswoman Violet ‘Letty’ Delville is appealing to the authorities in Orlando, Florida to bring her missing granddaughter home.

Letty pleaded for deputies to move swiftly in locating her granddaughter, Miya Marcano, one week after she disappeared from her Arden Villas apartment complex in Orlando.

In speaking with WESH2 News at a vigil held on Thursday, September 28, Delville said it has been very difficult for the family to process her granddaughter’s disappearance.

“It is very hard because I am dying inside. We need closure. We’ve got to solve what it is. I don’t know what kind of life it would be for never knowing where she’s at,” she said with tears in her eyes.

Marcano was last seen leaving work around 4:30 pm last Friday, September 22, according to the Orange County Sheriff office. Her family believed she was kidnapped from her apartment.

“Wherever she travelled, wherever she went, she always had teddy,” the concerned grandmother said. “Then, when they went into her apartment and saw the teddy was there, we knew something definitely was wrong.”

Foul play?

Marcano’s aunt Semone Westmas maintained that she was taken from her room.

“Miya was kidnapped. Miya was kidnapped out of her room at Arden Villas through her bedroom window. I’m calling on all resources, the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), we need you,” she told WESH2 News.

Investigators believe that 27-year-old Armando Caballero was responsible for Marcano’s disappearance. However, he was found dead on Monday of an apparent suicide.

Caballero worked as a maintenance worker at the Arden Villas apartment complex where Marcano lived and worked. Investigators said Caballero had a romantic interest in Marcano but his advances were turned down by the 19-year-old. It is believed that he used a master key to get into her apartment around the same time she vanished.

The case has seen more than 60 detectives trying to find Marcano and even the FBI has gotten involved.

19-year-old Miya Marcano has been missing for a week now.

This is about her grand daughter. That’s where the focus should be. There is a young later who is missing and her family is rightfully concerned about her.

I am as anti-crime as anyone can be. However, the last time I checked this lady paid her debt to society.

If you don’t have anything good to say at this most emotional and sensitive time for this young lady’s family, I would suggest not saying anything at all out of decency.

letty may not be everyone’s cup of tea even though i personally have no issues with or ill will towards her. but even if it was discovered that she was my worst enemy, the sorrow that I feel in regards to the disappearance of miya marcano would not have changed. as the parent of a daughter myself, this is truly an unfortunate situation and I hope that she is found soon.

Again, your focus is on the wrong person. Your truth is unkind, insensitive, devoid of compassion and just in poor taste. Using your words, its filthy.

What you are saying is because of this missing grand mother’s past, we should not care or express concern for her granddaughter’s welfare. Her granddaughter has nothing to do with her grandmother’s past.

That mindset makes you are terrible person, one whom I personally would never care to have as a friend. Your heart is cold and dark.

I trust you do not have a bad experience in your life with your family that requires the publics assistance. If you do I trust people will overlook your past (we all have one) and assist you.

Keep living. That period in your life awaits you.

He who has no sins, cast the first stone. I can bet you my life you will keep your hands in your pockets. All those illegal turns you made; all those no parking zones you occupied; that little candy you stole, all is against the law. Have love for others. Letty may be the one to save you or a love one some day. Be very careful how you treat others! This life, this world is yet far beyond our understanding. Always give as much love as you can.

It is not the time, that is correct, but i was drawn to the case from a spiritual standpoint, and was led to investigate the background of the family, to come to an understanding of the spiritual curses of the ancestors. I realize that sometimes what is sown, is reaped by the sons of the fathers. My condolences to the family but repentance is at hand and it must be sooner rather than later.

She is mixed. Why does it matter? Whether she’s from trini or tola? She is still missing. That’s where the focus should be at.

She is mixed. Why does it even matter if she’s from trini or tolian? She’s still missing. That’s where the focus should be on.. Not where she’s from.

Impassioned????? She lost her granddaughter?… a grandmothers love is like no other you don’t know what is going through her mind… you rather see her falling out of the floor… so y’all can have more stuff to say about her….. regardless of how y’all feel about Letty!!!

    That’s not at all fear!!!!!

  12. Common Interest says:

Letty may not be everyone’s cup of tea and yes we are all saddened by this. However there is a lot of fake concerned individuals among us I work here at the prison in Tortola and to hear some of these inmates talk “ E” among many. It’s disgusting he too needs to be investigated for … he has his phones and this facility has many ears. He post on his media … Extradite this trash out our BVI waters. … He threatens the guards and pays some of them off. Keep your friends close and enemies closer. I guess when you have certain ministers in your pocket such as .. to name a few you get away with anything. INVESTIGATE DEEPER! It’s more to it. RIP MiYA.
