Liz Truss has officially become Britain’s new prime minister yesterday after Queen Elizabeth II accepted Boris Johnson’s formally resignation and accepted Truss as the new leader of the Conservative Party.

She was appointed yesterday after Queen Elizabeth II accepted Boris Johnson’s formal resignation and accepted Truss as the new leader of the Conservative Party, which holds a majority in UK parliament.

The 47-year-old Truss has served as a member of the British Parliament for 12 years. She has held Cabinet roles within various Conservative governments for eight years, serving most recently as Foreign Secretary.

After what many describe as a bitter contest for party leadership, Truss won 57 percent of the votes from Conservative Party members compared to 43% of her rival, former finance minister Rishi Sunak.

The new prime minister takes over a country marred by several significant challenges including a rise in energy prices driven by the war in Ukraine.

Truss has largely supported the people of the Virgin Islands during her time as Foreign Secretary. Following the decision not to suspend the territory’s constitution, Truss released a statement saying: “The people of the BVI want and deserve change and have made their desire for better governance clear. Elected officials know this. We want to support the new government in making this change and allow them the opportunity to reform. We have a duty to protect the people of BVI from corruption, criminality, and poor governance. We will stand by them.”

For the first time in British history, a white man will not hold one of the country’s four most important ministerial positions.

Truss appointed Kwasi Kwarteng – whose parents came from Ghana in the 1960s – as Britain’s first Black finance minister while James Cleverly is the first Black foreign minister.
Suella Braverman, whose parents came to Britain from Kenya and Mauritius six decades ago, succeeds Priti Patel as the second ethnic minority home secretary, or interior minister, where she will be responsible for police and immigration.

This Unity Government better get their act together and fast. The UK is breathing down your backs. Stop fighting a war you can’t win. My opinion only, the UK is going to step in very soon. They are giving us enough rope to get tangled in.This Unity Government cannot fix the problems that we are facing in the time span that they were allotted.

So the UK can have negros in the government but the BVI doesn’t have one white. So it’s ok for the BVI to be racist and apartheid as long as the UK makes all the Belonger UK citizens and feeds you money. What a disgusting lot you all are. Animals in the wild don’t behave like the Belonger

UK isn’t doing nothing! The pattern so far is exactly that. So stop the fantasy and wake up to reality. You’ll be less disappointed in the long run.

What a horrible and unfair comment. You sound like a sick person who suffers from depression. The BVI is 24 square miles and with people who have chartered their course.

But lately, like the UK we have had some bad leadership. And don’t pretend like everything is hunky glory in the UK as far as race is concerned.

There are alot of glass ceilings over there that are in place to keep negros and others down allegedly. However, that is especially negros and whites of a certain class. Because they are powerful Blacks in the UK but uk is about a class structure more so in most cases than a race structure.

So don’t come on here and take your frustration of this class structure on the people here because you cannot possibly make it there because of your class economic structure, but you feel you have a divine right base on race to excel here. They are whites here who are BVIslanders and if they want they can run.
