Loaded firearm found in vehicle | Two men arrested

Two men could likely face gun-related charges before the local court after police reportedly uncovered a loaded firearm inside a vehicle they were travelling in on Tuesday, April 28.

The incident occurred sometime after 11 am, Acting Police Information Officer, Akia Thomas stated.

She said the men were placed under arrest “after being intercepted by police” in Road Town.

“Investigations are ongoing into this matter [and] a further release would be provided once more information is given,” Thomas said in response to a BVI News inquiry.

The men have not yet been charged, she further noted.

BVI News continues to follow this developing story and will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.

They have not yet been charged. Wha happen, ayo got to look up the law books? Possession of unlicensed firearm, illegal ammunition and illegal drugs. The law books say when you find both weapon and drugs then it is a probability that possession of the drug was with intent to supply.

11 am? There was absolutely no way I was coming out of this lockdown for a few hours of freedom to go into another lockdown. Rather stay on the good side of the law and settle for the lil curfew eh.

I can almost bet 100% these men are BVIslanders. “Loaded Firearm Found in Vehicle” and not “Two Men Found With Loaded Firearm” as if the car was empty or the loaded gun was driving it.
