Love pours in for late Trinity Moses’ 20th birthday

Messages of love and support have poured in for the family of Trinity Moses after her mother shared an emotional Facebook post, marking what would have been the slain girl’s 20th birthday.

Trinity was only 11 years old when she was killed in a shocking shooting at West End on November 22, 2017. Franklin Edison Penn Jr, 41, was also killed, while Trinity’s mother, Ramona Moses, was wounded but survived.

On Sunday, November 23, Ramona reflected on the nine years her family has spent without Trinity and thanked those who have supported them through their grief.

“Nine years have gone by without celebrations, cakes or gifts, nine long years with no more hugs, singing, dancing or cooking,” she wrote.

Moses said she often wonders what her daughter would look like today and whether she would still enjoy making slime, watching the television show Chopped and reviewing food the family bought.

“All we are left with are their memories, and we must continue to keep them alive through those memories,” she said. The post triggered an outpouring of support, with residents remembering Trinity and offering prayers to her family.

“Happy heavenly 20th birthday to your princess. May God continue to give you the strength and peace to find comfort in those beautiful memories,” one online user wrote.

Another person recalled the night of the tragedy. “I remember holding your little girl that night and I would never forget you or Trinity,” the post said.

Others described Trinity as a former classmate, offered continued prayers and said her memory would live on. Trinity, her mother and Penn were travelling in a vehicle along the Sir Francis Drake Highway when unknown assailants opened fire on the vehicle. Police later said Trinity and Penn may not have been the intended targets.

The case remains one of the BVI’s most haunting unsolved murders and was referenced again publicly just days ago during a discussion about the territory’s unsolved killings. Ramona, meanwhile, said she remains grateful for the kindness her family has received.

“There’s still good out there in the world,” she wrote.

20 years old. Can you imagine what that young lady would have been today? She would have been someone special in society and would have had a positive impact on society. May the ones who had hands in this and to this day knows who did this and choose to be quiet, you will never have another day of peace on this earth.

If only people who knew who the killers are and who the people are who currently have guns would pour in.

Trinity’s loss is a loss for the family and the Territory, that has brought us and the VI Culture that protects Criminals daily.
