Bring in those armed forces that were here after Irma.

They’ll rethink how bad they are then.

I will never ever vote for that guy, he is displaying dictatorship ways, banning or refusing to Post any comments he don’t like, especially anything to talk favourable about the Governor… I love the Governor but, keeping it real and honest, the Governor need to step up and ensure that our security is maintained, even if he has to shuffle and shake ups…Back in the days we had real detectives visiting bars at nights mingling getting important info. Back Then the force was under a hundred, now its over two hundred, With less results. Ive heard a few retired officers who wanted to rejoin just to help and to make a difference but neither the commissioner or the Governor giving them an ordinance, All these recruits with no general knowledge of the BVI..It would have been nice to mix up some veterans retirees with some new blood, offer guidance along the way.. We have to be pro-active, things have to change.

We need to provide opportunities here in the bvi. It is time to expanse certain industries and provide more technical jobs in place. I think our youth just plain bored to the point of this negative trend.

  5. Danger says:

Such terrible activities that we are now seeing are the inevitable result of the corruption and endemic ignorance of basic law-keeping that the BVI has seen for the past 30 years. There has been no vision from the politicians and no care for the people – just for getting themselves power and/or money.

It’s time the territory was flooded with law enforcement. Make every motor cyclist and driver follow the law. Make every person who has sudden wealth prove where they got it from. Make every politician complete their disclosure of interests or be fired immediately.

The BVI is fast becoming a narco state and investors will flee, no matter that it is such a beautiful country and most people are law-abiding

Its already flooded. Also news flash BVI people have been policing ourselves since freedom from slavery.

    You want to reduce crime?

Tell them gun factories in America to stop flooding the globe with weapons.

How in the world do you believe Haiti got filled with weapons?

First black country to gain independence in the Americas

Colonialism 2.0 let them destroy themselves since we can not pofit off them as slaves.

So when those mega yatches pass through we will ask where they suddenly got their wealth?

I want a safe territory but getting shot down like Black men in America by foreign officers doesn’t appeal or having a officer pressure you into search that you are rightfully allowed to refuse.

An officer searching someone for no reason can cause that person to get kicked out.

Think of the social consequences before advocating a military style police state. Innocents are being killed from America to Israel. That is not our way.

Hire Local officers & legalize weed.

You will have all the info on the real criminals after that move.

Black on black crime. Sad reality that practically all of these crimes are being perpetuated by blacks on each other.

    Fact.

Notice we do not hear of any other race of people shooting up each other except for our own kind. What is wrong with some of us?

Guns don’t kill. People kill. People avail themsel ves of these killing instruments and consciously, knowingly deliberately kill each other.
People in the now and today VI consists of hundreds of different nationalities varied ethnicities and arev from homes near and far.
Sooo who are these killers and who are using illegal firearms fortheir gratification.
It is evident, no secret the ethnicity, geography race and sex of these murderers. Soooo what is the hesitancy/the deliberate refusal to address these folks directly and deal with them accordingly. The behaviour has entered the schools where children and teachers alike risk their lives daily. Confront this evil element directly. Why pussyfoot around and continue to harbor this murderous element that is destroying our safety our way of life and the economy.

I don’t favour the Police Act that the Governor is trying to have passed this week. However, it should be focused on these careless parents:

If your child is found with a gun or kills someone, the parents should be arrested forthwith. I bet you the first parent/parents this happens to you will see a change!

Some of you all parents are too careless and raise a bunch of thugs who are out all night on the street until the wee hours of the morning while you all are home in your bed fast asleep! How on earth can you go to sleep and sleep comfortably knowing that your lawless child is out??? These parents should be hauled before the courts if these thugs live with them! No matter how old they are, you should hold your boys accountable to come home at a reasonable time or else tell them to look for their own apartment!! Do you careless mothers and fathers search your boy’s rooms????? DO YOU??? YOU MAY BE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THAT THEY HAVE WEAPONS IN YOUR HOUSE THAT HAVE TAKEN SOMEONE’S LIFE! SEARCH!!! SEARCH!!!!
The BVI has gone to the dogs now! Do you mean to tell me every weekend a murder, a shooting by these young thugs?? Haul their parents out of their beds and lock them up in the cell at the Police station. And then drag them before the Magistrate in the morning to answer for these out-of-hand boys that they have roaming the streets of Tortola all night as if they own the place, and taking lives as if they give life to take it! IT HAS TO STOP!! I AM MAD!!

SOME KIND OF ORDER NEEDS TO COME TO THIS PLACE! IT’S WORST THAN THE WILD WILD WEST!!

RVIP, DO YOU REALISE WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?? THIS IS REVENGE KILLING!! YOU KILL MY DWAG, I KILL YOUR DWAG, AND THE BEAT GOES ON! IT IS NOT GOING TO STOP!! WE NEED THE UK MILITARY IN THIS PLACE TO BRING ORDER TO THE BVI!! YOU CANNOT EVEN SEE THE POLICE WALKING THE STREETS ANYMORE! THIS PLACE IS A FREE FOR ALL!

ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON I SAW A CIVILIAN, A CIVILIAN!! DIRECTING TRAFFIC BY RITEWAY AND ROYAL SHOP JUNCTION! THANK GOD FOR THAT MAN OR ELSE CARS MIGHT HAVE BEEN BACKED UP ALL NOW! NOT A POLICE IN SIGHT! I REMEMBER SUPER COP USED TO BE OUT THERE DEALING WITH THE TRAFFIC AND NOW HE IS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!!

THIS PLACE NEEDS CLEANING UP, MAN!
HOW MANY MORE MOTHERS WILL HAVE TO BURY THEIR SONS??

More patrol of police on foot needed through the town and close areas day and night. Patrol is needed in the villages too.. Police men and women need to know this country and it’s people. Some policemen have bulging stomachs like they are not getting exercise. Too many policemen and women in this country and all those back to back shootings and killings. . Band all firearms from this country.. when anyone is found importing them deal with them.

Why yall dont also focus some energy on taking these stupid toys guns that shoot objects out of them off the streets as well.. you are allowing the conditioning of Gun use to grow then wondering why they are being used.. clowns.. and the parents that allowing little kids to shoot these toys at each other.. are just weird and clownish.. whats soo fun in shooting each other..

Guns should not be in the hands of disgunctional folk who will never understand it as a hobby or collecting..basically being a responsible owner. Some communities will only use them to threaten and kill..each other cause their role models..rappers and gangbangers do it at the drop of a hat.. angry..petty and a danger to themselves.

  21. lordy says:

Nothing wrong with guns.As for some folks having access to them..that’s their responsibility to bear.Im a legal owner and I feel safe thank you.

  24. Sailed BVI since 1980 says:

Happy to say we experienced the BVI when it was a pleasant place with many people happy to help US sailors and make money feeding and entertaining them. The territory has undergone tremendous falling of desirability since the cruise ships have been visiting Tortola and bringing in so many criminals with the business. Sad to say that I saw BVI when it was a place I dreamed to sail and visit Norman, Cooper, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Tortola – but no more. BVI scares the hell out of me.
