Man allegedly breaks into home, attacks sleeping woman

A reported ex-convict has been taken into police custody for allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and attacking her while she was asleep.

BVI news understands at least three persons were injured in the reported incident.

The incident allegedly happened sometime last week while the woman was at her Fat Hog’s Bay residence with two male friends.

It is said the woman fell asleep on the day in question but was awoken by a punch to the face by the accused. The assailant reportedly had snuck into her bedroom unbeknown to the two male guests who were said to be in other sections of the residence at the time.

It is understood the men were alerted when the woman raised an alarm.

It is further said a subsequent fight ensued between the trespasser and the male guests — one of whom reportedly sustained injuries during the scuffle. The alleged trespasser also sustained injuries.

Police were reportedly summoned and the assailant charged, BVI News understands.

It is said the assailant and woman were formerly in an intimate relationship. BVI News is yet to confirm the man’s identity.
