Man charged over Fahie Hill gun discovery

St Kitts and Nevis native, Alex Archibald.

A man has been charged following the recovery of a firearm, ammunition and drugs during an intelligence-led police operation in the Fahie Hill area of Tortola late last year.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated that officers conducted the operation on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, during which a search warrant was executed at a residential property in the Fahie Hill area. One male was arrested during the exercise, police said.

The accused was later identified as Alex Archibald, a native of St Kitts and Nevis. He has since been formally charged with Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Explosives, and Possession of a Controlled Drug, according to a press release issued by the Police Information Office.

During the execution of the search warrant, officers recovered a Glock firearm along with 31 rounds of 9mm ammunition. Police also seized approximately 8.82 grams of marijuana, as well as other items of evidential value, the release stated.

The RVIPF said the operation formed part of its ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal firearm possession and drug-related activity across the territory. “The RVIPF remains resolute in its efforts to combat illegal firearms and drug-related activity and continues to work diligently to ensure the safety and security of all communities across the territory,” police said.

The RVIPF has pointed to firearms as a key driver in serious offences, including homicides, and has reiterated its commitment to removing illegal weapons from circulation.

The RVIPF has repeatedly urged residents to assist law enforcement by reporting suspicious activity and sharing information that may help prevent violent crime or lead to the recovery of illegal firearms.

Members of the public who may have information that can assist with ongoing investigations are encouraged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339, call 311, or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or 284-800-8477 from overseas.

“All information will be treated with the strictest confidence,” the police assured.

A semblance of corrective action would be a prisoner exchange.. a VIslander prisoner in StKitts/ Nevis for one of theirs in these VI.
The likelihood is, there is no VIslander in a St Kitts/ Nevis penal facility. Another would be to impose a tax on this group to cover real and potential VI expense resulting g from their predictable and habitual cultural antisocial crimibal behaviours of various kind causing adverse effect on the quality of life, reputation and economy in these (B)VI.
