Man fatally shot in Huntums Ghut Thursday night

File photo

A man was fatally wounded during a shooting incident in the Huntums Ghut area of Tortola earlier tonight, Thursday, February 24.

Police confirmed his death moments ago.

The law enforcers said in a brief statement that the incident happened around 10 pm.

Details are still sketchy but the police said, “the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital”.

The identity of the victim has not been revealed and the law enforcers said no other details can be provided at this time.

If the police is treating this incident as a murder, this would be the second homicide recorded in the BVI since the start of 2022.

It’s interesting how these young men are losing their life slowly but surely one by one was and still is a part of crew of criminals, that have done killings or drug distribution which goes hand in hand. 2nd death and we only in February and from the same crew, I’ll bet that killing from last month plays into this killing.
While the “Puppet” master continues to pull the strings! These young men better start to understand there’s no friends in the dirty drug business!

The killing will continue because the government refuse to step up and take these criminals serious….BUT, until the day someone close to them is gunned down in the streets, they will continue to be blind bats

How one going blame any Government for the callus behavior of criminals? It’s the choices individuals make no matter who they are. How would Government deter a murder? Do they know what a murderer looks like? People need to stop with these atrocious behaviour and learn to live like Humans.
