Man feared dead after robbery, shooting

Gunmen used the cover of the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma to rob and shoot a man in the Greenland area of Tortola last week Saturday.

Several sources have told BVI News Online that the Spanish-speaking victim has since died, but there is no confirmation yet from police.

According to reports, sometime last Saturday, masked gunmen went to the victim’s Greenland residence where they met his son.

It is alleged that the criminals asked the man’s son of his whereabouts, and the son went and woke him.

The gunmen then robbed and shot the man before fleeing the scene. The son was not hurt in the incident.
