Man fined $3K for 21 grams of marijuana

A Fat Hog’s Bay man was fined $3,000 when he appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for being in possession of 21 grams of marijuana.

Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards ordered Grashaun Audai to pay the fine by November 30 or spend six months at Her Majesty’s Prison in Balsam Ghut.

The senior magistrate said she thought a fine was appropriate in Audai’s case considering his early guilty plea.

She also said she issued a fine as opposed to a custodial sentence because he showed remorse for his actions and he attended drug counselling sessions.

Audai was first arrested and charged for the drug offence last November.

Defence attorney Richard Rowe represented the offender.

        Prohibition breeds crime!!!

if all the drugs in the pharmacies were made illegal, people would make bank off of those same pharmacy drugs, and people would be able to buy guns to protect their street profits.

Look up Al chapone, look up bootlegging, look up ALCOHOL prohibition.

now that alcohol is legal a whole generation of criminals lost their lucrative income and became obsolete.

Prohibition creates crime & kills. it is sad.

Time to legalize and make money off the tourist.
