Man found guilty of incest

British Virgin Islands native Frandi Thomas has been convicted of four counts of incest – sexual intercourse with a person to whom he is closely related.

A nine-member jury found the Tortola resident guilty in the High Court on Friday, June 2.

He is now on remand, pending his sentencing.

Justice Nicola Byer is expected to sentence the convicted sex offender on July 6.

Thomas was represented by attorneys Valerie Stephens-Gordon and Stacy Abel.

The Crown was led by Director of Public Prosecutions Kim Hollis and Senior Crown Counsel O’Neil Simpson.

They claimed that Thomas had a series of incestuous encounters with a young family member.

The offences reportedly started some time in 2010.

The trial was completed within one week.
